i am shocked how many people ive spoke to still wish we were still playing at ninian park i find it staggering to be honest

Id love to still be there but i do realise she was old and tired and if we ever wanted to progress we had to build the CCS

It's no so much Ninian being knocked down for me, it's the fact we've built a conventional boring 'no frills' stadium with no character what so ever! It could have been designed in a better way and still on budget.

I'd like us to still be playing in a modernised- renovated ninian park, but as it was, not a chance. I know our new stadium is a bit "bland" but it does have potential. If we ever get the rest of the seats in to make an upper tier all around, and change the cladding on the outside to something decent, then it will start looking like a stadium with character. Bit of a blank canvas at the moment. But the potential is deffo there

I take it then you are glad that the Ashton Vale debacle means that you will be staying in that shit-pit known as Ashton Gate!

I seem to remember Sam's original blue prints for a "Rolls Royce" of a stadium was scaled down & cut back during the planning, due to the original high costs of the build.
Don't forget that the "fit out" wasn't even considered, or budgeted for until later, adding even more cost to the project.
I can't recall the true cost of the final CCS build & fit out, but i'm pretty sure that if Sam had got his way in the beginning, & had his original stadium plans developed, then the cost would have been significantly higher.

When the CCS gets expanded and we get some money no doubt the stadium will be re-designed anyway.

CCS is a soulless place; saturday was quiet except when we scored the 2nd but then as City played the game out rather too negatively, it was almost funereal.
Ninian will always mean a lot to me but if we do go up then City had better start sorting out the atmpshere which is sterile to say the least.
Only a few games has it been electric - Bellamy's debut, the 2-1 win v the jacks, the play off game v Leicester and when we beat them with 10 men that season, the semi final win v Palace, maybe a few more but in general it is dull.

That explains why you prefer to be stoned then - enjoy the derby with Yeovil next season

Yes , i agree that NP created more atmosphere & passion (when full), but i don't think that re developing NP to an 26.000 all seater stadium was ever a cost effective option.
Sam Hammam knew this from the very start of his involvement with our club.

Id love to go back to Ninian park, it was our home!
That pathetic plastic soulless, flat pack thing is shit
my opinion, all opinions welcome

There's no going back Ben, NP is long gone now, only memories left, the good, the bad, & dare i say it,,,.
I do believe that one day, one day soon, the passion, soul & atmosphere that was once created at NP, will be re created at the CCS,,, & IF we do make it to the Premiership, then that day won't come too early enough for me.

I know there's no going back, I know its gone and houses have been built on the site, but if i had the choice to choose, Id take going back in time and staying at ninian park, and if it meant no investment so be it, for me growing up as a boy with cardiff and ninian park it meant everything, it was our home it was our club, all that seems to have gone r.i.p

Loved Ninian Park and its atmosphere but it was time to move on
IF we had any ambition
Events since moving to the CCS (
Capital City Stadium as I call it!!

) have
PROVED it to be the right move

I think sometimes we look back with rose-tinted spectacles. Atmosphere apart, it was a shithole by the time it was knocked down
