They have open ended terraces behind the goals, the Grandstand is a roofed seated stand and the opposite touchline has an open seated stand. I guess the ground would hold a maximum of 10,000.

I attended the match with my Mallorca mate Tony, they are a passionate home crowd and Atletico are 8th in the league with nothing much to play for, the match started with some decent football, probably on a par with lower League One in England.

There was 4 riot police and plenty of private security with batons.

There was a lot of chanting and I thought they were cheering but it turns out they were calling for the manager's head, I spoke to a couple of locals who said they wanted him out 5 months ago, during the game they cheered their team from beginning to end and their players acknowledged them at the end.

Right from the beginning I was told they hate Mallorca with a passion.

After an end to end game of football at the final whistle the fans stayed behind to applaud every player off the pitch, their manager got out of the dugout and he muttered some words towards the fans and then was ushered down the tunnel by security and then the players left the pitch.

What was funny was when I was leaving the ground their fans were protesting outside the managers office doors, brought back some memories for me.

And the ground reminded me of an old fashioned Greek arena.

Another ground notched up that's 333 grounds I have attended.

Is the away support any good ???

Valencia B team only had a hand full of fans.
But when teams from the Island go there Mallorca or Mallorca B or Inca etc a full house and the away teams have big numbers. In the Cup games when they play other clubs support from both sides is good.
Apparently Atletico take at least 150 fans over to main land Spain every game as they are very passionate about their club, better away than Mallorca, yet Mallorca get 15,000 to 25,000 at home games.
Atletico have Ultras behind one goal and swop ends after half time,bthey detest Mallorca big time and when they play each other there is even a lot of trouble. The grounds are only 4 km from each other.

Well done annis. Bring back some sun it was freezing yesterday.
