You have to say there was only positives came out of today

Our 3rd highest attendance of the season today with 25,586 ( Palace home 26,098 and Peterborough home 26,073 ) witnessing probably the most complete home performance of the season. We dominated the game and the first 30 mins in particular was a joy to watch. We were patient when we we needed to be, we attacked with pace and the only thing lacking in the first half hour was a couple of goals.

Campbell, scoring his 2nd and 3rd goals, has got his City career off to an absolute flier. Absolutely the striker we needed and what we have missed since Maynard got injured, the lad's confidence must be sky high and that can only be a good thing for us.

Would have loved Bellamy's free kick to have flown in from 25 yards, the guy is a machine, the amount of running he does is just phenomenal, I get tired watching him.

Felt a tad sorry for Nugent with the own goal but the youngster is gong to make mistakes and in fairness he was p,yang with a knock for the last 15 minutes but still put himself into challenges and never shirked out of anything.

Malky went for goals today with his attacking line up which included Bellamy, Campbell and Noone. On another day we could have scored 4 maybe even 5 goals.

Many have bemoaned our style of play but surely nobody can be disappointed with what we got today.

The atmosphere in the first 5 mins was as good, I thought, that we have seen at the CCS, unfortunately it didn't maintain that level of intensity throughout the first half but when we got the 2nd goal it certainly lifted to another level again. So much so I forgot I was in the family stand for a split second and allowed my mouth to run away with itself a little bit

The games are running out for the teams chasing us and our destiny is firmly in our hands, one game at a time now though and I agree with Malky it is all about boring consistency now but if that is boring football I will take it all day long. :D

Bring on Brighton and hopefully chalk off one win from the six I predict we need to guarantee promotion :ayatollah: :malky:

Noone was definitely having a good go to stake his claim for more starts :ayatollah:

Tommy Smith's pass to Fraizer Campbell for his first goal was class too :ayatollah:

2-1 certainly doesn't tell the full story mate. That looked like an absolute stone waller when the defender pulled campbell back straight after half time too.
We were excellent today, patient and potent and if we can win tuesday we'll be on 70 point in mid-february!!!!! :ayatollah: :malky:

I got an excitement waiting for games to come around that I have not felt for a long time, since Malky came in I look forward to a game on a Saturday but now that feeling comes straight after the last game has finished :malky:

Me too mate, but it does seem as if we're in the minority. I've been on both messageboards tonight after stuffing one of our main rivals and getting one step nearer to promotion and pushing them one step nearer to relegation and all i seem to read is the about dancing dragons and the usual tedious threads about atmosphere!

FFS be happy we're 7/8 wins away from promotion! :malky: :ayatollah:

Every Cardiff player deserves praise after that game IMO. Forget that silly error at the end because overall it meant nothing. 3 points is 3 points, let's not forget. I also think that the Gunnarson and Whittingham midfield is getting better and better. Both of them almost scored today as well.

Now let's as fans keep turning up to games and hope for another 3 points on Malky's special day on tuesday.

Yep, exactly what I thought - no mindless humps up-field from Turner, play it out from the back.

Nugent was class today - thought Marsh was further out than he needed to be - but have to say, that's our best home performance for a couple of months - 2:1 flattered bristol by a mile.

Pure domination today but we need to be more clinical. Bristol probably could have gone in at half time one nil but Marshall spared our blushes. For me Marshall is my player of the year so far. Wish he was Welsh. Roll on Tuesday. We have to expect teams to park 11 players in their half and defend. Glad we got great attacking options like no other team in the championship.

Good performance .
Great result.

But I would happily accept poor 1-0 wins for the remainder of the season. :malky:

Class today what Championship defence wouldn't be scared facing Campbell, Bellamy, Noone, Smith and Whitingham, they must be shitting planing who to double up on, we should have scored five today,Heaton kept them in the game with some great saves :ayatollah:

Gutted I missed it. I booked train tickets last night. Spent the night, morning and afternoon chucking up bile. Mrs rang NHS direct who sent a rapid response vehicle out. Ended up in local hospital seeing a doc who says I have norovirus and a gall bladder problem. The prescription was almost 30 quid. Add in train tickets and match tickets and this game has cost me a 100 quid and I didn't even see it!

Shit, sounds nasty Gareth.

It was an excellent performance where it should have been more. Campbell came good with his goals, Marshall when needed came good and made an excellent save when Bristol finally decided to give it a go when going 2 down. However my man of the match was Nugent.

As the Wurzels came looking for a goal Nugent put in some last ditch blocks. One blocked he got injured causing the game to stop. He looked very collective on the ball and is the reason we did not bring in a central defender this loan period gone. Forget the own goal, I personally don't think it was all his fault. I believe this guy is on the same level as when Ramsey first appeared.

Great performance and the own goal flattered them to be honest.

I was gutted for Nugent but he is a mature lad and its one of those mistakes even the best of players make mistakes!

He will take postives as it's not often you get a few chances to play in a team like this at his age and I am happy we got a CB like him because it saves us money on splasing for a new one.

Campbell took his chances well and that is what we need right now.

Bellamy chased everything.. Heaton was put under a lot of pressure.

I thought Whitts done quite well in the middle spreading it out wide.

Thought Smith was fantastic and it was like how he was at the start of the season.

I have to say the work rate and commitment of our players is fantastic with Bellamy leading from the front. In the second half there was a point i was watching bristol had the ball and our front 4 even 5 were jst all over then and wouldnt leave them along chasing everything right back to the keep it was immense.

And fair play Heatons distribution has improved!

Hmmm apart from when we was two up and then sat back and the game could of been a draw very easily :o At one point we had posession by there penalty box and within 45 seconds we was by our own box being pushed back without them even touching the ball :o
But apart from that it was all positive :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :malky: :malky: :malky: :malky: :malky:

Really good attacking performance today, 11 chances on target and only 2 off? Quite good, played very good football I thought, good patient buildup

Ok, The result was never in doubt but is it not time that we started to put teams to the sword.

Lets face some facts. Bristol City are very poor and more than likely going down.

20 minutes to go we started thinking the game was one.
Passed the ball backwards and sidewards and just invited pressure on.
Thats where the own goal came from.

Come on Malky, Push the team forward.
Attack, Attack and Attack some more. :malky:
