Why did they let him go?

Sat Feb 16, 2013 4:25 pm

Why did Sunderland get Fraizer Campbell go?

I know he had a couple of bad injuries, but he wasn't given a fair chance this season to break into their team - and it's not as if O'Neill has forwards who are scoring loads of goals.

I truly believe that Fraizer is Premier League standard. His movement is second to none, and far too good for the Championship.

He will score goals for us, if we go up.

Still, i'm not complaining - top player :ayatollah:

I read one of the message boards that lots of their fans thought O'Neil wanted to go more direct so he needed to make way for Danny Graham

This kid is class........

Sunderland is a graveyard for good footballers. I think the last good footballer who went there and succeeded was Kevin Phillips!
The latest player to go to waste there is Adam johnson

Eyebrows were raised when it was something like 7 million back in November.

Got to credit Malky for the buy.. going well after 3 games. MM never fails with a signing.

His finish for the 1st goal yesterday, just showed the kid has class. Alot of players would have just tried to toe poke it under the keeper.

A real gem of a buy, lets hope he keeps injury free.

And Ben Nugent despite his own goal is really starting to give Malky selection headaches.

Premier League record....

Played 60 and scored 6.

There's a big difference between scoring in the championship and scoring in the Prem, ask Danny Graham.

Are you seriously asking me that?

Okay after some research it seems the goals were acquired in 3396 mins of football.

A goal every 556 minutes.

Did you watch him yesterday? No.

His movement and finishing is of premiership quality, no doubt about it.

Well there clearly is a doubt as he's been at 3 prem clubs and couldn't get into any of their sides regularly hence why he's had to drop down a division.

And yes I did by the way but thanks for answering for me.

Due to injury.

Wayne Routledge couldn't get into a Prem side then dropped down a division and now is playing well in the prem.

Think before you say something.

Wayne routledge was a winger. Not expected to score goals often. Routledge always performed well but there were better in the team, players like bale for example.

Frasier Campbell wasn't injured for the time he was on he pitch and in 3300+ minutes he bagged 6 goals. Not much to debate.

He didn't do what he should in his position, but does now. Simple.

He did it fine. Just wasn't first choice, ask Newcastle fans.

Sorry my mind reading isn't up to scratch yet. Maybe try to construct your replies better for us unmind reading idiots :ayatollah:

Clearly not. He'd have started if he was good enough.

Re: Why did they let him go?

What a stupid thing to say. Whenever he played he did well did what he was meant to do but he was at clubs with better performers.

Campbell hasn't done what a striker is supposed to do at any premier club.

Re: Why did they let him go?

Sun Feb 17, 2013 4:14 pm

Campbell just needed a new club. Now he has one.

You can't possible know how he'll do if we get to the prem.
