Edinburgh Glasgow trains for Scotland match

Wed Feb 13, 2013 3:04 pm

Quite a lot of Welsh fans are staying in Edinburgh for the Scotland/Wales match in March....here is some useful train information for you

Edinburgh train station to Mount Florida Glasgow

Match day train service Edinburgh to Glasgow Hampden park, return

Leaves Edinburgh 11.30, 12, 12.30.12.45, 13.12, 13.30, 14.00, 14.15, 14.30, 14.45, 15.11, 15.30, 15.45, 16.00, 16.45. 17.11, 17.15, 17.42, 18.00 and 18.15

The trip takes one and a half hours usually…this is because you change trains in Glasgow…you get off at Glasgow Queen street and walk to Glasgow Central where you then make the onward journey to Hampden park and Mount Florida station

After the match the train leaves Mount Florida station , near Hampden park at 22.19, 22.49 and 23.34 these trains take one and half hours because again you change at Glasgow central, walk to Glasgow queen street for onward journey

Return tickets vary from £15 to £23 dependant on times and dates that you book them

In some cases you are better splitting the ticket - Edinburgh to Glasgow return and Glasgow to Mount Florida return. Double check before you purchase.

Also, there is normally a very big queing system at Central prior and Mount Florida after - you may be as well following the crowd and walking back or walk the first mile and flag a taxi as it can take forever to get on the train.
