contacted them by email about a week ago and asked where does the meat come from and who supplies it for the vale schools ,cos my sons school has burgers and meat balls ,chille etc on the menu,guess what not even a reply to say they got my email ,as a parent dont bother me to much if ive eaten horse meat etc but dont want my kids eating it ,does any one know where it comes from or are you not that bothered what your kids eat ?

Horse meat isnt bad for you by the way. It was unacceptable that it was found in the meat but its not going to harm your kids. I also highly doubt that it was in the childrens school meals

Horsemeat from known sources may not be harmful, but horsemeat from unregulated criminals in Rumania could be fed or exposed to all sorts of harmful chemicals in their feed. This is what the authorities are now most concerned about. Traces of banned/illegal substances/chemicals have already been found in some horsemeat samples.
This is just the tip of the iceberg I reckon. More and more will come out over the next few months and you won't be able to trust even the best known ready packaged food brands.

Mine have always taken a pack lunch to school! I've never trusted school dinners, its the cheapest crap along with prison and hospital food.
