Couldn't have turned out better

Mon Feb 11, 2013 4:50 pm

as it seems that as I sit in 117 Ninian, on the left hand side of the steps, we will be staying put in our seats and not being made to move elsewhere, as the away end will now start to the right of those steps. A real bonus, as we are right next to the away fans, plenty of banter and a cracking atmosphere, just what I have always wanted.
What I would say though, is that there are quite a few miserable bastards who are in and around me at the moment, its usually the older ones in their 60s, who moan contantly about standing etc, next season they are going to be right next to the away fans, which is bound to be lively, not violent, just lively. I don't really see why this lot would want to be in there, as they are the types to have a moan if the away support start goading them as we know will happen. I wish the club would point this out to current season ticket holders in this area and give them realistic options for moving to comparable seats further along the Ninian. I can see, as it will inevitably be a bit livlier there, that tempers may get a little frayed.

I think we would all prefer it if you left well alone. I think I speak for many people when I say we do not want you moving some grumpy old Mr Melfew types near me.
Leave them where they are .

I was thinking more of swapping them with supporters in other parts of the Ninian who would appreciate it more, being right next door to the away support ;)

Ah - these old innconsiderate buggers who moan cos. you stand in an area of the ground where the club don't want you to stand. Whose the inconsiderate one?

I think your having an attempt at sarcasm, which isnt really working out for you. I never called anyone inconsiderate. The fact is that they are the types who cannot wait to moan about something and in this case standing is what they choose to focus on. They can't wait to pick someone up on it. Given the fact, that this area of the ground will become a little more livlier shall we say, due to the away fans being right next door, then if it was me, who wanted a quiet life and remain seated throughout the game then I would have moved along the Ninian years ago. Like I wouldn't go in the Grandstand and stand up as much as I do, as I realise and respect that supporters who have chosen to sit there want that type of match day experience.

Blocks 117 and 118 should be designated standing zones like the canton. It would improve the atmosphere :malky:

Totally agree Gareth, if the club, weren't so afraid of their own shadows, they would actively encourage it to get the stadium rocking. Then Malky really would have something to praise the fans about. The bad days have gone, we are more than capable of standing next to the away fans and having a good sing song without it turning to violence.

Going up will improve stadium atmosphere as everyone will stand and it will make it more difficult to steward. I hope......

Unfortunately my season ticket is in 117 to the right where the away end is expanding to so I've got to move next season :(

Looking forward to standing in the Canton though, I've only been in there for the Carling Cup matches last season :ayatollah:
