Bristol City home...late 80s

Mon Feb 11, 2013 2:23 pm

Remember that well as I was driving out of car park (on to Sloper rd) and about 4 or 5 CC fans were goading the BC fans coming out of the grange. Next thing, about 200 broke the police line and gave one of the CC boys an absolute pasting - he ended up being kicked underneath my car - scary as hell!

Twas the match when Paul Wimbleton missed a pen, think we still lost 3-0 mind :ayatollah:

Was that the one when Bristol would not come out the grange end due to the amount of city waiting ! That was the early season 3-0 defeat.

Ha.ha. You could not be more wrong placid. That was.the 3-0 win for us in oct 89 i believe and our lot could not wait to get out and into.you. Kicked the gates open. I was at one of my first away games and gotta say it was mayhem on sloper road. Our lot escorted up to special by ground .

You are right, WTMS. From what I saw about 100 or so CC were pushed down Sloper rd by police and as BC came out of the Grange end, a few CC went to goad them. Cue a few hundred BC break out of a surprisingly puny police cordon and beat the crap out of one poor CC fan in particular - the other few scattered. The BC hoolies then walked down Sloper rd away from the ground, WITHOUT an escort. Don't know what happened then. :ayatollah:

Shithead . Thanks.is that a compliment? Obviously you were not present at that game in 89 at ninian. Cos ut happened as me and your city fan said. Our lot went into yours along sloper road then got put onto special at ninian halt.
Times have changed yet rovers are still wank. Aint showed at AG for long time no matter what you think.

Your site. Make your mind up cos you make out your gas. What a joke of a firm at the friendly 80 tops and you got escorted all the way from city centre and left at half time. WOW. Like i said in previous thread.i was outside orchard ( spike island) when the ghs went past. By f**k did we laugh. If thats what you can pull for a local derby. Plum.

WTMS, placid casual lives or works in Bristol and is full of shite. He hasn't actually got a clue, he relies on others posting and takes bits from there posts.
He's one of those that talks the talk on forums but has never thrown a punch in anger.
He's someone who thinks 60 gas escorted by 50 OB just making it to Ashton Gate is a result for them!

There seems to be an awful lot of cardiff fans on here who seem to have a big interest in rovers and what they allegedly do to city , perhaps if we play the gas again we can invite a couple over and they can see for there self what rovers are like rather than just listening to idle gossip , placid casual didnt seem to mention rovers were meeting in the eagle at 10am on derby day and didnt turn up , and why didnt they turn up cus it was full of city waiting for them at 0930 , shall i go on , get facts casual not rumours or small talk ,

Well said moonshine, never seen such a poor turn out, wouldn't even come out off boozer when fronted ( colleseum ) don't think anything will occur sat as cc fans won't want to risk banning orders when Certs to go into prem .meeting early doors at gas pub in horfield

I was always more impressed with City than Rovers.

I remember Rovers once getting into the Rose & Crown in town early doors but that's about it really. Always an easier trip away too.

The game mentioned in the op, the main Bristol City firm 250+ arrived at central about 2.30pm. The only Cardiff there was a few of us youngsters waiting for a taxi. There were hardly any police waiting so they walked through. Around half walked around to Asteys where they surrounded some Cardiff. The 5 or 6 of us got chased back into the station. I saw at least two blades pulled. That was definitely an eye opener for a 16 year old. That was the start of many a tussle with them

Rovers were always game though. They never had the numbers of city but always tried. They avoided the escort after one game here and got to the philharmonic and called it on a couple of hours after the game. They got turned over but not many teams hung around for long in Cardiff
