We took our 2 coaches to Rochdale and drank there for over 2hrs, with NO Hassle.
Cardiff fans escorted by police in Huddersfield or shall we say well over the top.

As you said, no hassle for us, just a peaceful couple of hours. A good meal, a couple of pints, no escort and we weren't bullied by any overzealous coppers.
Mon Feb 11, 2013 12:26 am
The coppers in that video are complete wankers, those lads were only singing songs.

Exactly. It's time for them to remember why they are there - to protect the public, not bully them.

I do hope that video is made a case of and sent to the FSF. There is no provocation at all from what I can see.

We all know some forces across England are bunch of wankers and just dont know how to deal with the situation, and at times make the situation even worse. In my opinion they who need to take leaf out of how the South Wales Police (SWP)deal with the sitatuion.
But I notice in the video there are members from the (SWP) (Heddlu on the uniform) who would probably understand how to deal with Cardiff fans e.g. in the video they try to resolve the situation.
Is it quite common that (SWP) travel to away games with us? because I have never seen any, or really paid attention to it.
It would probably be easier by just letting a few members of South Wales Police travel with the main supporters club to keep an eye on situtaion, rather over stretching other police forces in the country and placing restrictions on us. We have all seen how effective South Wales Police have been at our home games, without any major restrictions being imposed on away teams (Only Leeds this season so far which required a RV- but the kick off was still 3pm). Millwall game went quite smoothly, where in the past this could have kicked off.
I'd imagine we have saved alot of money in policing costs........to be honest I think we'll be expecting alot more restrictions in the premier league, especially playing many teams for the first time in years. It seems Bolton and Huddersfield just didnt know what to expect from us this season and have gone overboard with the policing.

Wayne Palmer and Simon Chivers were there from SWP, as I saw them both. I was amazed by the huge number of polizei at the match. I honestly don't think half that number needed to be there.

Im in that video and the police over reacted big time. We were in rickys on leeds road having a few pints with huddersfield fans in there aswell. About 20 of us were outside having a fag and started singing next thing we new there was about 20-25 coppers soround the pub 6 police horses a nice copper with a camera and said we couldnt go anywhere until they had arranged our escort!! A 5minute walk turned into a halh hour walk.
Everyone was all in good spirits and all this tactic did was rile everyone up!!! I have to admit one or two of them were good as gold but others were twats.

your police force do travel with you.they sat outside the ibis in brum by macky d,s island watching annis and a few of the lads drinking and enjoying the company of blues fans who had pre -arranged a drink with them.very peaceful.they even came in the pub for whatever reasons.easiest days pay they will ever earn.remember if the dibble don,t find a few probs then their cushy numbers are gone and they would get sent to places where it really is kicking off

I recorded this vid and can tell you from the minute the police turned up at our pub they tried provoking city funs with pushing and shoving! It was us who were telling them to "calm down" there was about 7-8 South Wales Police there who were in my opinion brilliant. They stepped in once or twice to tell the WYP that we are ok and not causing trouble just having a sing song.
1 or 2 Huddersfield fans were not happy that we were singing anti english songs and told one of the coppers to arrest us for being prejudice! They didnt let us leave the pub until 2.55pm even though we were all ready to get to the ground for kick off. When we were escorted, as you can see for yourselves they were complete dicks to us pusing us round to get a reaction. We got there in one piece though and enjoyed a good atmosphere and a very good point.

Annis, we have gone to away games with the kids for years, easy not to get involved with the police. Trouble was our girl thought the dogs and blue lights etc looked great fun and wanted to join in. The look on the policemans face when we joined the end of the march to Qpr s ground was so funny.

Overreacting big time? - On the evidence of that video clip neither the fans nor the Police did anything

We hear storys about this all the time, we know what the police can be like, SO WHY IS NEVER ANYTHING DONE?? why isn't the trust taking things futher? why isn't the club asking questions or seeking legal advice and why are the south wales police who travel and witness this behavior not doing anything!
with hudders, leeds and wolves, surely we should be having a few south wales high up police or investigators in the cardiff area on getting to the stadium and leaving the stadium writing or doing some kinda of report on the police behavior
they'll soon change their ways

the copper was clearly out of line, all they were doing was singing and the copper started throwing his weight around.

argumentative ppl on the forum jumping on the bandwagon again I see. You need to realise this is a clip of 2 minutes out of 3 hours that we were there!
Mon Feb 11, 2013 12:36 pm
You got to understand that nowadays working on a saturday policing a football match is the easiest money a copper could ever earn. There is no trouble anymore, it is very peaceful between fans enjoying a drink. There doesn't need to be half of a police presence that we see at the moment at games.
If there is no trouble then most copper will lose this easy pay so they deliberately set out to cause trouble so they can say "These Huddersfield fans are animals we need to police them every game" to their superiors. Its all a con because the club has to pay towards the policing costs too.
Mon Feb 11, 2013 12:51 pm
Exactly. Train up to Manchester...good drink and singsong, watched the yids then arrived late enough in Hudd to miss all that shite. Walked past a couple of vans outside the station and straight into a pub.
Mon Feb 11, 2013 12:54 pm
Mugsy like you said that video shows nothing.but one guy in that clip was arressted for that lttle scuffle just as it stops filming but was later released with £100 fine. I wasnt on about the clip i was on about the fact that one coach load of city fans who were drinking with hudders fans with no hassle at all then suddenly we have an escort with coppers and riot vans everywhere!! All that did was rile people up who were just out to have a good day

Are there a few Hudders boys trying to get into the front of the line or have I totally misread that.

No the hudders fans were back at the pub. They were allowed to go but we had to show our match tickets before they escorted us

Ahh right. So that's what the bald guy at the front is showing the copper, his ticket. I see, it seemed that some of the guys at the front were trying to get INTO the exit. Thanks for clearing that up mate, if that's the case coppers were ridiculously heavy handed

Due to unforseen circumstances I've had to delete the video, sorry guys!!

Most people seen it to get the point anyway
Mon Feb 11, 2013 4:31 pm
can u get it back up again please?
Mon Feb 11, 2013 6:24 pm
And yet for those of us who went straight to the stadium (supporters club coach), they were happy for us to go in the pub they have next to the stadium, drink, sing a few songs and mix with the Huddersfield fans. Totally different experience to what it looks like you guys got!
Mon Feb 11, 2013 6:27 pm
To be honest nothing really happened, not exactly the battle of Orgreave was it ?
