"UPDATED... OFFER FOR BLUEBIRDS FANS AT THE SAND MARTIN PUB"

Sun Feb 10, 2013 5:18 pm

The Sand Martin Pub on the Site of the Cardiff City Stadium are doing a great offer not just for Cardiff City fans but for the general public too.
On Saturday and Sunday mornings and especially on weekend match days the Sand Martin have started to serve breakfast from 9am to 11am, it is served as a buffet type breakfast with an all you can eat on a "one" visit basis. Simply go up and pile your plate up with as much bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, etc etc, as the plate can hold but you can only do that for one visit.
As you may already be aware that the Sand Martin operate a no drink without food process on match days but if you have a breakfast then that entitles you to have a drink in there right up to kick-off. The bar opens for alcoholic drinks from 10am but you can buy soft drinks from 9am
The cost of the breakfast is only £3.49 per person and starting from this Saturday 16 February 2013. Cardiff City entertain Bristol City with a kick-off of 1pm and for this **Saturday only breakfast will be served from 9am to 12.30pm.**
Make the most of this great offer and get yourself down to the Sand Martin for breakfast and a few drinks before going to watch the Bluebirds grab 3 points against the Robins.

P.S. Any questions please PM me and I will try and answer as much as I can.

:ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

EDITED & UPDATED......**
I have just been told that the breakfast time has changed from the original time. It will now be serving the above breakfast between 9am and 11am.**
I am told that they are expecting to be very busy so please get there early too avoid disappointment.
The Sand Martrin would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Don't worry about the 'one-visit' policy. Just sneak in your own oversize plate, just like Alan Partridge. Eat my goal. Aha!

They do, Obviously struggling for business so now are welcoming us with open arms.
Good Offer but I will stay loyal to my usual haunt The cross where i've been made welcome for 20 years.

What kind of a joke of a pub is built on the grounds of a football stadium but who's mgt don't welcome football fans?
You really couldn't make it up. The pub should have a meaningful name and be covered in ccfc memorabilia. It has neither I believe.

Lee, they don't hate football fans going in there, it's the licencing people that have restricted the pub selling alcohol on match days to just drinkers, they have to dine as well but only on match day. It has nothing to do with what the pub wants or don't want and I can well assure you that they are not struggling, far from it.

I put this offer up for the benefit of our fans that might want to take advantage of this and not for the pubs benefit but of course it will also benefit them.

Justin, I would recommend you find out the facts before you make comments like you just have
see my post above but I will say again, it has absolutely nothing to do with the management of the pub why they will not sell alcohol to just drinkers on match days, their hands are tied to only sell alcohol to diners issued by the licensing people, (totally out of the pubs hands).
As for the name of the pub, although I agree with you, it is NOT owned by Cardiff City or even anybody from Cardiff so why should the name have anything to do with the football club and have CCFC memorabilia in there? Also by saying at the end of your statement, "I believe", tells me that you have never been in there and just going on what some people have told you.
I'm not having a go at you mate but you really should find out the facts before making statements like you have. If you don't like the offer then quite simply, don't go there!
Rant over :D

I've been in there loads of times now before the game. The food is really good, fair play, a brekkie sounds great. Me the Mrs and the little lad usually have the match day menu carvery Fab. There is NO problem with football supporters in there. I have seen away fans in there as well no probs. You also get a full pint in there for a decent price. you just have to have something to eat. But hey if they are now doing a brekkie even better  just get there early :D

A successful one.

A few people drinking for a few hours once a week is nothing but a bonus in the scheme of things. Hence the Ninian struggles year after year, referb after referb.

i take it you are running the place are you tenerife? your right i havent been there so maybe i shouldnt have judged like you say. Not the sort of pub i would usually go for 2bh. The breakfast deal is good mind, they do a simillar one in whichurch that i frequent. Its not whoever is running the pubs fault how it is, just amazed that a pub a stone's throw from the stadium has nothing to do with the club, i dont mean overkill so no-one goes there the rest of the week like the ninian, just a theme to it. Only in this shambolic country could such a situation occur mind. Like you say its hard enough for most pubs these days, cant rely on the odd event (when was our last home game anyway?) so have to be realistic and broaden ones horizons.
