Aaron Ramsey

Sat Feb 09, 2013 11:39 pm

Will never fulfill his full potential since he broke his leg in my own opinion. Everytime I've seen him play he has seemed short of confidence and I still think its from horrible injury. Also Wenger playing him out of his preferred cm position doesn't help but I don't think he'll be the amazing player people thought he might be. Just good.

Discuss.

Through rose tinted specs City fans made him out to be world class when in fact he is just a tidy premiership player.

He's getting worse, he's had as many full seasons in a first team as alot of 25 year olds though, which is around about when players start becoming complacent if they haven't got the right focus and mentality

I think everyone thought he was going to be quality when he was up and coming, up until he broke his leg, maybe even world class like Bale. But after the leg break, I think he's lost his confidence in his own ability and is just going to be "good" now. As someone said above he's only 22, so maybe I'm being premature, but I don't think i am, he seems to have come to a halt.

I think only City fans thought that not everyone.

His injury was 3 years ago, hes fully recovered, its irrelevant now as far as im concerned.

As I said, tidy player but not WORLD class.

I remember arguing with people that he wasnt as good as Steven Gerrard ffs

you can never judge him at just 22! hes still got a good 10 years in him, if hes still the same player at 26 then ill rest my case.

Being stripped of captaincy of his country, booed by Arsenal fans, had his leg broken, had to deal with the death of a mentor who believed in him.... can't help but think this lad needs a whole heap of confidence injected back into him.

This 'rose tinted glasses' stuff is nonsense. I'd trust the opinion of ManUtd, Arsenal etc scouts more than any small minded fan. Rambo had as much potential as Wilshere is displaying now. Got a long way to go to get back to that though

That's probably the most balanced opinion I've read on Ramsey.

I hope his confidence returns because he the potential to be a very good player. :ayatollah:

This is sad to see, everytime i watch him his touch is heavy and he's playing deeper. I remember when he first signed for arsenal, he broke into the arsenal first team before wilshere. This young attacking midfielder, compared to cesc! Remember his solo efforts against porstmouth in 2009 and his man of he match performance against scotland. Also the screamer his scored against joe hart for wales u21's at villa park. Maybe i'm biased, but surely something's got to change? The players he has around him and manager. This form can't last forever?? C'mon rambo sort yourself out!

Agree with most of this but I think the players hes got around him are fine and the manager Wenger is quality enough but being played on the wings doesnt help when he's a cm. He could do with a loan out to a decent club who need a cm to get his confidence back.

Has always been neat and tidy, blessed with great control and vision.

I feel his problem if there is one is the team he is playing for. Arsenal fans are the embodiment of the modern fan, clueless Jonny come lately's who believe the Jack Wilshere hype, as we believe the Ramsey hype. A directionless team who over complicate things with little end product, he should not have signed the extension as he will never play in his best position as there are better players than him at the club.

He needs to be the bigger fish in a smaller pond.

As someone posted, he's tidy, that's it. Not good enough for the big teams, see him at a team like Fulham. Reminds me of Sidwell, stand out at an average team, not good enough to kick on at a bigger team.

It's not hype about Wiltshire, the guy is now England's centre mid starter. He's arsenals main guy, and would be sort after by every big club in the UK.

Nothing to do with the team. A good enough player stands out in any team.

reminds me of what torres is going through and Eduardo went though, one bad injury and hes not the same player mentally and until he overcomes that he will not reach the levels everyone once expected for him, I personally believe he is a good player but never be world class, if he moved to lets say top 10 team like Fulham or Everton and played in his natural position week in week out and not have pressure on him that hes got at arsenal he could rediscover his potential but he wont at this moment with arsenal.

Wilshere suffered an injury that kept him out for well over a year and hes come back flying.

Wilshere - World class
Ramsey - Premership class

Ramsey ripped Scotland apart on his own in 45 mins. Also scored excellent goals in the Prem and the one v Eng U21s at Villa Park. Fantastic player before he broke his leg. Rose tinted glasses my ass. More like shit in your eyes for anyone who couldn't see that or a seriously bad memory :ayatollah:

Re: Aaron Ramsey

His confidence has plummeted, he needs 1 season in the championship to regain his confidence.

Re: Aaron Ramsey

Sun Feb 10, 2013 3:04 pm

He will regret not choosing utd for the rest of his life . Would not have broken his leg and would have a couple of championship medals in the bag
