It'll be nice to see the big teams

Fri Feb 08, 2013 4:24 pm

Just rcvd a text from a lad from my area whom I know, he said him and his old man have bought season tickets today for next year as they thought it would be nice to see the big teams come to Cardiff. He has always been a football fan and his old man, and he has spent years on and off going to anfield with kop shop in maindee , but always rubbished Cardiff never interested in coming down with me during last 25 years maybe he been 2 times. More and more people now who have never seen a game at Cardiff will be onboard but I do wonder is it for the right reasons or as he says "be nice to see the big teams" :( :malky:

Modern football and the evolution continues. Don't forget that we will attract new genuine fans and all the old lot will still be going.

Heard of others who have bought "new" season tickets for next year.
Not sure if they are already city fans but definitelyu new season ticket holders for next year.

What's a 'big team'? Stoke, Wigan, QPR, Reading, WHU, Southampton, Norwich, Swansea, West Brom? Most of the clubs in the Premier League, we have played in the last ten years, excluding the well established clubs. What will your mate do if we don't get promoted?

I've had some very revealing conversations with people about Cardiff City in recent months. I was having a haircut in Canton a few months ago when the barber,a Liverpool fan despite having a Cardiff accent stronger than Frank Hennessey and confessing to never actually visiting Anfield or CCS for that matter, told me that he was delighted that Cardiff had gone red. I enquired further and he told me that he would definitely watch Cardiff in the premier league,if they get there,as he felt that he could identify with them far more in red than he could in blue! I honestly thought he was taking the piss but he was being straight up. Anyway,he was a tosser...and it was a shit haircut

I also got chatting to a female Welsh rugby fan recently who has started going down the City occasionally since the FA cup final in 2008. She was delighted with the change to red as she said it was more like the Welsh Rugby team and she felt it would be great if the Prince of Wales feathers could be added to the dragon badge!

Welcome to Cardiff City 2013. Its not for me anymore but if you can stomach it all, good luck to you.
