ESPN 5.30pm tonight

The Great Britain ice hockey team are live tonight on ESPN at 5.30pm. They are through to the final qualifiers for the Winter Olympics and for the GB team this is massive.We are Deffinatley the underdogs and the lowest ranked team in the group but it was a massive achievement for us to get this far but you neve know. They are playing well at the moment and they are a few Cardiff devils players playing in including phil hill who is a big city fan and does the ayatollah everytime he scores. If you get a chance have a look at it, it's a Great sport and get yourself down to watch the devils, the game last Sunday had hits, fights and even an huge two handed slash with the stick.

I've always wanted to go and watch the Devils. I've never got round to it though.

What days do they play?

It's ususally either the Saturday or the Sunday. The best games to watch them against are either, Coventry, Sheffield, Nottingham or Belfast. The coventrys games this tear have usually ended up in a brawl including one this season where a devils fans got punched by a Coventry player. It's good fun and they serve a cracking pint down there

I remember a few games last season were someone who worked down there got discounts for CCFC supporters/season ticket holders, is there any chance of this season or?

Team gb lost 6-2 but played really well to be homes it's a good result for us to only lose by four goals. The Latvian players have over 600 NHL (premiership standard) appearances between them whereas the gb team has 6 ahl (championship standard) appearnaces between them and we caused them some problems. The quality and skill of the players showed in the end and their team unity was clear to see. (Team gb had only been together as a team since Monday). Though we play against France tommorow at 1.30 on espn being the underdogs again.

I believe the offer is still on for city fans I have tweeted the devils owner to ask him, this season has been a bit of a wash out but we are competing. A couple of seasons ago we held the Guinness world record for most competitive wins on the trot by any sports team. It is a cracking night especially if you can get to one of games against the teams I mentioned above ( the Coventry games are particularly fiesty).

Devils is an ok evening. You can have a drink while watching the game, atmosphere is ok. But it's stop start every other 40 seconds.

Cheap though, fights can be quite good (albeit infrequent)

Yea mike hicks is an absolute tool. You thought some of the referees city have had were bad wait until you see the officiating at some of the devils games...absolutley shocking. Mike hicks is actually from Cardiff and runs ch sports but it says it all about the shambles that is the elite league when you have referees reffing their teams in their cities to save on money.
