Wales attendance last night ?

Thu Feb 07, 2013 7:24 am

Anyone know what the attendance was last night at the Liberty ? It's usually in the Western Mail report but nothing today. Was it that embarrasing :o

Embarrassing for the fans yes. Those who complain about the attendances or the performances are usually the ones that didnt or don't go. Simple solution.... Attend.

Embarrassing for the FAW.

They messed up their fan database about 8 years ago and despite having attended many games they refused to put me back on it so I couldn't buy tickets remotely. Haven't seen them play since and won't.

It is odd as there should be at least one Liberty Stadium full of footbal fans in Swansea. :ayatollah:

The FAW don't get embarrassed, they are idiots. They should put tickets down to £10 for adults £5 for kids but won't, it's clearly an issue. Especially with important club matches for fans to pay for.

The FAW are idiots for pushing fans like me away.

That's exactly what it was last night..

My opinion? Get in the schools - give out tickets for free for a game or two. It may cost in the short run, but there may be one or two who hang on and continue to go.

Coleman chose the captain no doubt but they always had this feeling to go for Welsh manager yet we have English captain? I like it we go for a Welsh manager but none of them will take us anywhere sadly.

I can't along with it and until reversed I will be boycotting.

So what you're basically saying is that you are not going to watch or support Wales because you are too patriotic.

Priceless.

Absolutely, once they've got a rough idea what the attendance will be, give them out, it wouldn't cost much more either, a bit more stewarding and staff, that's it.

I just don't see how people can go along with an Englishman leading us out.. I accept they are allowed but captain should be Welshborn.
Priceless.

They did that up here early-mid 90's and that's where I and a few others really caught the bug following Scotland.

The bastards!

You'd think with those 2 jack clowns in charge & playing at the Liberty they would have got a bigger crowd.
I have a theory though that when club teams in Wales are doing well people don't bother as much with Wales.

Haven't been since the Gary Speed memorial night and won't go again until Coleman is replaced. They can go on to win the World Cup, I still won't be there. Just lost all emotion and energy I had for supporting my national team the day they employed Coleman.

been trying to find out the attendance also out of curiousty and cant find nout. Agree that coleman does very little to influence me or the team from what i can see, in the same vein as toshack. Which i finf quite weird as i watched a 10-15 feature of him on sports wales behind the scenes and he was a good laugh and i dont understand why hes so flat with the media!

Romania, England Away the first time, charging a membership to buy away tickets, just 3 reasons of many why i hardly go anymore

Re: Wales attendance last night ?

England away at Old Trafford when they gave loads of tickets to the Faw officials to sell to who they wanted was scandalous.

Ignore the fans who'd bought tournament season tickets.

I got one in the end but have never forgiven them for ignoring the real fans.

I wrote a massive but polite letter of complaint and never had even an acknowledgement.

I was a tournament season ticket holder, City season ticket holder supporting Welsh football, coaching a Welsh kids' footy team having done Faw courses but didn't qualify for a ticket while Dai Egg who had never seen a footy game in his life but knew Jones the Administrator took his pick!

Wtf?! So Coleman can win Wales the World Cup and you still won't be happy?

Can I suggest you aren't really a Wales fan then?

Coleman shagged your wife or something?

Easy to be wise after the event but they should have charged a fiver for adults and a quid for kids. Can't blame the jacks for not turning out as they've had a lot of games recently and a wembley trip.

The alternative is to give the game to Wrexham and let the North Walians have a chance to watch their team. The under 21 match should have gone to Carmarthen or Bangor rather than Stradey as all that does is give money to the egg chasers.

You do realise anyone can go to a Wales game, not just the city it's played in

Anyone know the attendance then? Must be really bad if they're not announcing it.

I'll take the figure with a pinch of salt like when Sam said once we'd get a bigger crowd than the rugby and it turned out to be a suspiciously round figure! Exactly 15,000 or something wasn't it???!!

About 9,000 - 10,000.

Yes but a game in Swansea is more likely to attract a crowd made up predominately of Jacks especially on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. Public transport in Wales at night is crap with only Cardiff having a decent train system and even this stops not long after 10pm.

The U-21 game was at Stebo.
