In a conversation not so long ago we were talking about the possibility of whitts turning out for wales .
is he allowed to still i know he played under 21s for england but hasnt got a full cap ?
He has lived here 6/7 years but believe that doesnt count anymore .
And supposedly has welsh in his family just not directly

Can he play for wales ?
Would love to see it personally

Thats what i thought , i think mr coleman should explore this we could do with another quality player would free bale up if whitts went left midfield .

My understanding is the GB have an agreement we won't steal from each other.

If we broke it for one player we would lose out massively in the long run. Prob never see a world class player again for wales

Surely england would agree to let us use him , there not going to tbh are they ?
Anyway if he has welsh in his family it might not matter , its definatly worth asking imo :ayatollah:
The worst he can say is no :D

That's fine but by breaking the gentleman agreement next time a giggs or bale comes along they won't hesitate to take them.

Bale and Giggs were full internationals by the time they were 17.

And being watched way before that.

Especially in today's game it would be even more obvious and heads would be turned way before being considered for Wales.

We've got too many CM's and full-backs, not enough strikers!

Re: peter whittingham

he's not welsh, simple as that! players born and bread deserve a chance rather than an englishman who qualifies cos he lived in wales for x amount of years!

Re: peter whittingham

its unfair that we abuse ashley williams but want whittingham to play for wales. i doubt whitts would anyway out of respect for his home nation. whitts does what he wants anyway so could easily play for argentina or brazil. nfqat

Not welsh . Hasn't got welsh parents nor has I gran visited Rhyl on holiday so he should not play for Wales. Get Morison and Williams out of squad and give their places to proper Welshmen. Rules should be changed.

Define Welsh born and bred though? Earnie wasn't born here but is a true patriot and shows more pride for his country than most.

Perfect attitude to the country this is! :ayatollah:

You lot are not happy with Williams captain but would accept Whitts? Not half biased.

On present form i would say that Whittingham is not even good enough to get into the Wales team

My dear kingdong ...instead of insulting my opinion, why dont you tell me why,on present form, you believe he would be good enough to get into the Welsh team?

Personally I think we got far too many english players playing for our national team as it is.

As much as I love whitts I just wouldn't agree with him playing for Wales.

Ben Turner is a perfect example, why would you want to represent somebody elses country.

Some players original birth place (country) are usually from a country who are very big on the international scene.

Like Ashley Williams took the easy opition because hes rubbish and not good enough for England like the rest of them.

I have massive respect for Turner by sticking to his loyaltys.

People give it the ol 'Giggs didn't play much' he made 50+ caps and thats good enough for me and its his decision. I prefer someone in a low league 2 team over someone whos born in England and from the Prem/Championship.

I have a grandparent from Germany and If I was made to choose one of them I would go for Wales everytime.
