Notts Forest Arabs V Cardiff City Malaysians...

Tue Feb 05, 2013 11:19 am

The Arabs by all accounts are even richer than Tan. We all have our gripe
with Tan, mainly over the rebrand, though some obviously have more
sinister reasons for HATING the feller

But these Arabs sacked O'Driscoll, who was doing pretty well. Then brought
in McLeish... who walked after 5 weeks.

His reason was that they were sticking their oars into all things football.

Apart from the red shirt, we dont know we're born with Vincent Tan. All he
is interested in is raising the profile of Cardiff City and reshaping the business
model in preparation for Premiership Football. He leaves the football people
to deal with the football side of things.

Time for the bitterness to stop?

Well said, like I said in another post, we are so lucky to have Malky and owners who leave him to it and back all his calls :malky:

Didn't Portsmouth FC have an Arab owner before they went bust?

Not to Tan etc it isn't they obviously have a plan and vision and that's the reason they did the rebrand and not just to sell shirts.

Maybe not to Tan, just like the Forest owner interfering with football matters is not strange to them...

They can have all the supposed plans and visions they want (I still don't believe it's anything except his favourite colour) but that still remains that it's a strange decision to all football fans.

We are still Cardiff City Football Club, we still play in the same place, we still
have 'FA Cup winners'.. 'Division 1 runners-up and 'Cup-Winners Cup Semi-finalists'
on our honours list. Yes we have a different colour shirt. I dont like that either but
we have changed colour before. To me the red is a far less disappointing development
than the sterile, lifeless atmosphere at the new ground. Tommy ten men stewards
walking round like Universal Soldiers with their tame coppers just waiting to pounce
on evil fans standing up or swearing...or some shithouse 'modern fan' ringing the
grassing line. Id happily see us in pink if we were just allowed to be working class
males at the football again. Cant blame Tan for THAT either really, Modern Football
sucks the big one.

But apart from all that... Vincent Tan has done more for this Club than any other 'owner'
if you disagree... please tell me who gave us more?

Well it sure seems sinister to me that he was slagged off so much LAST season, long
before the rebrand was even a twinkle in the eye.

Where have I claimed that the club name has changed? :? Identity is more than just a name.. :thumbright:

You say the name is the same, but not the shirt colour? Actually, that's incorrect - since the club became known as Cardiff City Football Club, it had ALWAYS played in blue, until Vince Tan came along and changed that.

No, you can't blame Tan for the modern football environment, though, there are aspects of the modern day game which are more appealing to me than before..

What you can blame Tan for though, is the totally unnecessary rebrand.

As for what Tan has done? I'll reserve my judgement just now. At one point I thought Hammam was our saviour, he has since nearly seen us wound up. So you'll understand why I'd prefer to reserve judgement. Especially as this money has loaned us is getting us very deep in debt. :)

Well you tell me? is it because he hasnt paid Sam? Is it because he banned people
from the Club?

Either way, all through last season there were so many negative threads on here that
you'd never have guessed he saved the Club, got us a new Manager, cleared up loads
of our historic debt, got us new players, KEPT HOLD of our best ones etc etc etc etc.
The "he's leaving in the summer" and "he's in it up to his neck with Tony Fernandez"
and "he's not backing the manager" threads were cringeworthy and bitter... and without substance

No. It's definitely a fact. Decisions about our brand and tradition have nothing to do with the football.

Lionel Messi could do 500 keeps-upsys in a red, pink, spotted, striped or luninous green shirt

... so your wrong

The kit does not affect the football

Thats hypocritical.

What your actually doing is choosing to comment negatively on all things Malaysian and
ignoring any positives. So your picking and choosing. Your entitled to of course but please
dont give it "i'm reserving judgement" its plain to see you've already judged him and the
verdict is "guilty" ... irrespective of anything good he might do

Not at all. I'm just pointing out thoughts on what he's done so far and my thoughts on your opinion that "we don't know we're born".

How is that an opinion it's the truth unless you think messi couldn't do 500 keep ups in a shirt other then barcelonas. If that's the case you lose any argument automatically because it would make you the biggest moron in the world.
Some times chuckles the shit you come out with when your losing a argument is imbarrising

Do you think Cardiff City are better off or worse off since Tan came in and paid the tax bill
and got the HMRC off our backs?
