Stay safe and stay in town.

Avoid all pubs in the Canton area at all costs. Whilst you might be ok, it only takes 1 knobhead to ruin your day (and we have plenty of them).

If you're from the West Country then I doubt that just not wearing colours will be enough to 'blend' in!!

head into city center, try to avoid canton/grangetown ... the further you go into city center the less likely you'll find trouble unless you go looking for it

Re: where to drink

i haven't got a clue where to drink around cardiff tbh sorry, but in all honestly there will probably be no trouble at all so go where you want! trouble only usually starts if the away fans start acting like knobs (millwall fans for example this season)

The drinking holes in Cardiff are shite. If i was you i'd get off in Newport, there's a couple of wetherspoons within 100m of the station and have a few there.

That was one of the plans , cant think of nothing worse than getting met by the local plod and no doubt chucked into some souless boozer , do trains direct to canton / grange area from newport or do we have to go through cardiff central

change at central, then catch the Radyr train via. City line, get off at Ninian Park!i ts a 2 min walk to stadium then... or just catch Penarth/Barry Island train to grangetown and thats a 10 min walk!

Re: where to drink

Sun Feb 03, 2013 9:55 pm

Just walk from central. It ain't far and nothing going to happen if you don't act like a plonker.

Re: where to drink

You'd be alright anywhere round the station IYAM.

Re: where to drink

Sun Feb 03, 2013 10:27 pm

Get down the bay area, it like a holiday resort, serious. Some great bars and restraunts and a five minute taxi ride from the station or stadium, have a safe enjoyable day, barring the result obviously.

I think any fan not acting like billy big bollocks and not in large numbers will be welcome anywhere. I think we are a fair bunch, go to Canton...all this stay away shit, its bollocks. Im sure most would enjoy the banter...if its a fair few of you though, then its bound to cos a stir, then id advise on staying in town.....unless you want to reminisce with our pensioners! :old: :old:

Did you just talk about shite drinking holes and then suggest a couple of Wetherspoons. :D

I'd go with Gwyns response, get down the bay.

The Neville in Grangetown is only a 10 minute walk from Central, and of the 1st pubs you come to and then its about 15 minute walk from there.

Plenty of pubs in town center mate, go to one of them. Then a quick taxi or whatnot down to the stadium. :ayatollah:

Canton……very friendly and welcoming to little teams and their 'fans' there.

The problem you guys have got is that it's an early kick off. If you're going to be traipsing around Cardiff, looking for a safe boozer, you're going to miss the match.

Re: where to drink

Kick off 1 pm mind not 3! You won't have a lot of time to go to a pub some don't open until midday, but they will probably open up walkabout as looks like there maybe a fair few of you on the train, or put you in the prince of Wales which is a whetherspoons and will be open early. You will not get much freedom getting off in Newport they will be expecting that and have it covered as several clubs have done that in the past.

My advice have a pint in one of the pubs by the station then head to the ground where the bars will be open, and the club do make an effort to entertain the away fans with DVDs of the visiting club.
