Atmosphere - everyone in the canton

Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:51 pm

do you think it's time everyone who wants to sing just came in the canton so everyone will be together and there would be a right racket down there?
I know some would rather be near the away fans cos the banter helps the atmos but the clubs on the continent with their curva's have shown that volume and passion doesn't require us to be next to the away fans.
I also know that some would rather watch the game from the side of the pitch but i dont think you can have it both ways. The club have just about said that if you want to stand up and sing go in the canton and you will be left alone. They are now also saying that people who continue to stand in the bob bank will be banned, so in my opinion we should all go in the canton and make one hell of a noise with flags and banners (as suggested by others) and show the premier league (if we get there) what we're all about. :malky: :malky: :malky: :malky: :malky: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

i read a lot on here about how the canton is the place to be, and every1 sings.....
and i was a season ticket holder in 105 a couple of years ago and thought it was pretty good...

however since i moved my ticket to 117 i honestly cannot hear the canton very often. Not sure why it is and i am not trying to be negative as i know at times we can make a noise. everybody there wants to sing so what is it?? do we need the drum or a particular section to all get together to get things started??
450 away fans made great noise at Leeds.

it just doesnt ever come across that loud where i sit now.
any ideas why??

It's a family stand.

That hundred or so at the back of 117/118 will make a big difference if they all come to the Canton. Having loads of empty seats near the front just kills the noise.
Hopefully if we go up, with about 3500 away fans and all the singers in the Canton, we can make some more memorable atmospheres :ayatollah:

I do like surfer flags though. While it's going around the whole crowd get pumped up somehow. Or if more people take flags and stick them on the advertising hoardings at the back :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

All parts of the stadium will be sold out by the fairweathers, so if fans are that annoyed that there's no atmosphere, book your CANTON STAND season ticket now, fair play though the Ninian does get packed each week, Canton I can't say the same though

I don't necessarily think that one place or the other is the place to be, i'm just thinking if we can find one part of the ground where everybody can sing together it woud be the place to be. The club (or police) are not willing for this to be the ninian stand but the will allow to stand in the canton (and it's cheaper) so i honestly think people should bite the bullet and do something to rectify our lack of atmosphere :malky: :malky:

Swap the canton fans with the family stand fans, There would be far more noise then and would be far more Intimadateing for the away fans more like Ninnian park. Iam on the bob bank can,t here the canton very well and they struggle to here us. :ayatollah:

being next to away fans shouldnt make any difference to be honest. the KOP is not next to away fans or the Stretford end. it means nothing. I just think the atmosphere is too tense and our fans sometimes expect to win and scream and shout if we are not, or if we are not playing well.

we need to celebrate the position we are in. maybe just on edge as we have form for messing things up.

just hope we can hold on and i think personally when we are virtually up and pressure is off a little it will improve a lot.

our fans have been through a lot after all

I've been a Ninian Stand 117 season ticket holder since the start, I've always wanted to make a difference by turning the that section into an official singing section as I'm always the one starting off the chants in the Ninian but sadly the club are getting strict with us and they're threatening to ban us just because we're trying to support our team. Now that it's looking certain that we'll be in the Premier League and the fact 117 is being taken for the away end, I've finally given in and I'm moving to the Canton near the front next season. Hopefully the rest of 117 will join the Canton as well. :ayatollah:
