"Bottlers"

Sun Feb 03, 2013 12:39 pm

I can't believe how deluded some fans of other clubs are. Saying "can't wait for Cardiff to bottle it, won't be long now". They've been saying that for the past 3 months.

I really can't wait to shake of this tag. It's almost like they have forgotten that we have a near to completely different squad, backroom staff and manager now.

Some of the fans saying we will bottle it will have egg on their faces come April/May. :ayatollah: :malky:

I concur, really hate that "bottlers" tag!

Fairplay, we came up short on a few occasions in the DJ era. But when are other clubs gonna realise we're not the same team anymore?

To say we "bottled it" last season is a bit unfair and all, we were well punching above our weight and West Ham still had Premiership quality players amongst their ranks.

This year is the year we FINALLY lose that tag that's haunted us in recent years!!!

We got a lot further than expected last season. :ayatollah:

I just feel with this team, they have all the right ingredients to get to the promised land! :ayatollah:

This bottler thing is a load of bollocks anyway and just cheap throw away comments. Yeah we've had our moments but what team hasn't? Preston away that time is a low and maybe it applies then, but for me other occasion it had nothing to do with it.

For example last year was a great achievement even to make the play offs. Losing the play off final wasn't bottling it, we for beaten by the better side on the day and had we not lost bothroyd I think we would have won.

I'm loving the bottlers tag!

Our rivals are running out of games, but they just cant see it, because they are
all expecting to wake up one morning and see the gap down to 1 or 2 points.
But Craig Bellamy just hit the nail on the head on Super Sunday... Saying how
the lead can all but disappear in two weeks, but the group of players we have
are all totally focused on that and know they cannot afford to take their foot
off the pedal. Malky was a bit clever in his interview yesterday too when he
said that any of our players could have a drop in form and then miss the next
ten games because there are lads gagging to take their place. Clever words ;)

let them call us what they want because Malky and The Boys absolutly thrive on it

I would say that it's not us that's bottled it this season but the other 23 Championship clubs, particularly much fancied Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves! :ayatollah:

Yes, I thought that all 3 of those clubs would be in and around the top 6 at the start of the season. How wrong was I.

You can understand why they'd think that. We've got history.

Yes, but it's like they can't understand we have a new manager, team and backroom staff.
