I have fond memories of Charlie during the 90s, not a bad player at all

He did indeed do some bird when with us. If I recall correctly it was for assault or similar.
He is also a big QPR fan. He was Christened a team sheet of names from the QPR team of 1970 or thereabouts. It goes like Charles, Francis, Stanley or similar.

I have quite a distinct memory of a game Charlie Oatway was playing at home. He was about to go in for a tackle. I shouted out "Get stuck in Charlie" or something like that. Don't know if he heard, but the next thing, instead of going for the tackle, he smacked the guy instead!

He was crap in a time when we were crap. He did try hard and wouldn't have lasted 10 mins per game with his tacking style nowadays.

Oatways a bit of a bully really DJ must be over 15 years older and his legs are fecked, he didn't pick on one of the younger ones, it would be like Malky knocking Warnock out, although I wouldn't mind seeing that one
