A forum for all things Cardiff City

Am I the only supporter that is slightly alarmed by us signing (Assuming we do) a player who has been blighted with Cruciate Ligament problems ?
Don't get me Wrong, I know how well a fully fit and on form Frazier Cambell would do in this division. But he isn't fully fit or on any sort of form.
He could have had his bad days and be due a long a prosperous playing run,That would be awesome for us.
But is signing a player with a history of CL problems to replace a player with a CL problem gonna be our answer?

Maynard's ACL tear was on the other knee to the one he had before. Its always a gamble with any player if they are going to get injured or not.

Could happen to any player at any time. Just got to trust the team that give him the medical, I'm sure they'll have more than a good look at his knees.

If only you were talking about Champions League problems...

Hope I'm wrong but I have a bad feeling about him not being up to the job in hand.

I share your concerns, I mentioned it in Annis' thread named 'new signing hmmm'
He hasn't played much this season (one period of 45 mins and the rest is a few mins here and there) a loan would have been a great option but I suppose Sunderland might want to offload him due to potential future issues.
I'm looking at the positives as well tho, if he only lasts 3 months that's enough to assist us in our quest for promotion

Thank f**k you aren't the manager then..... All that worry for nothing, go and enjoy a nice glass of wine.

That's why players have medicals , they won't be shelling a lot of money if there's any risk whatsoever .the club have a superb medical team , headed by Mr Chris Wilson consultant surgeon ( hes looking after maynard )who I've worked with on many occasions .An injury can occur at any time .just gotta be lucky !!

I think it's a gamble worth taking. We would never be getting a player of Fraizer Campbell's quality if he didn't have injury problems. If he stays fit until the end of the season, this will be an unbelieveable bit of business. We still have to sign him first mind!

After what happened to maynard, I can see the medical staff at city putting his legs in a vise and bending n twisting them 360 degrees the wrong way and allsorts, just to make sure his knees are up to it... I think he will be ok. Bellamy has got a rotten history with injuries but we seem to be managing him ok, so I'm sure, if cambell does sign, our club will be well ontop of his injury problems.

Shit, I'll say he is.Providing he signs I hope the goons on here will give him time to bed in before slagging him off.I can see it now after the first game if he doesn't score."Frazer is shit" "Malky should have known better"or other garbage along those lines.
