Basically.......get as many points as you can to achieve promotion.

No shit Sherlock!! How much goes in the sky rocket for that pearl of wisdom.

Blake is a clown.

He either states the obvious or just says things to be controversial.

Not sure what qualifies him to be a pundit anyway.

The stick Blake gets for giving his opinion is staggering to say the least. I agree with the majority of Blake's columns, he is fair and tells things as they are. I think Blake is spot on with his 4-5-1 idea to get us playing football again as with a 4-4-2, we have fallen into the trap of lumping it long to Heidar/Rudy. I also completely agree with Blake about Whittingham's drop in form and having an extra man in midfield will allow Whitts to play the free role and start pulling the strings and dictating play again. Blake talks a lot of sense, obviously everyone has differing opinions, but slating Blake for no valid reason is pathetic.

"No valid reason".......Where's the substance to his opinions.

Whittingham and Helguson have 7 goals each, Blake says this is not enough. No suggestions to go with this statement other than 'get more people in'. Is this what you consider the opinions of a pundit? Where's the real analysis and the real suggestions of the types of player to go for which would add value to the current squad.

Like I said, very empty opinions.

Joe bloggs the pundit can say " win the league by getting as many points as possible, and bring in a couple of fresh faces". Blake gets column inches to waffle that single sentence!

Some of Blake's valid reasons I have already stated in my post, such as switching to 4-5-1 etc, which is an idea to help give Whitts a bit more help in the centre so he can play more of his passing game and create more chances for our strikers. Blake is also correct that 7 goals for our top scorer isn't enough at this stage of the season and he has suggested Connor Wickham as the type of player he would like brought in to boost our front line. Blake has discussed our current form, tactics, what he thinks we should do to improve, players he would like brought in and then finished off by backing the boys at Blackpool. I think that's more than sufficient and certainly doesn't warrant the unnecessary abuse he's getting.

Connor Wickham would be a great young player to have in the squad......to go with the other young prospects we have.

He's not the striker who'll get 15 goals for us now though is he.

Could be better than Gestede (almost certainly really but hard to say until Wickham has a run of first team games. He's not played a lot the last year really.)

He wouldn't get the nod before a fit Helguson.

I don't waste my time with his nonsense.

I do still laugh at his "remove Hudson as captain" comment. He couldn't be more out of touch with our club.

These footballers think because they have kicked a ball around for 20 years they have a right to be great sport talking philosophers majority of them leaving school at 16 with poor english skills.
then they become athletes/footballers and generally the mentality key skills stays that of a 16 year old boy, because they dont need to use any logic in what they do for a career
