James Hurst?

Mon Jan 14, 2013 7:41 pm

Apparently signing him? (Only rumours on CCMB and Twitter) Think he played for Birmingham on loan

Re: James Hurst?

Mon Jan 14, 2013 7:45 pm

Now there's a signing that'll make the rest of the championship stand up look at us and think "Are they serious about this promotion thing?"

Re: James Hurst?

Mon Jan 14, 2013 7:47 pm

His career so far does not make for good reading

Went on loan to blackpool and brum and couldnt get in the team

Re: James Hurst?

Mon Jan 14, 2013 7:48 pm

Not a signing that excites me at all

Re: James Hurst?

Mon Jan 14, 2013 7:50 pm

The big clubs were after him when he was a 16 year old but not progressed much in the last four years. May be worth taking a chance on.

Who's he with now? Not someone I've heard of to e honest unless its just a blonde moment

Massive signing, spent time in the last few years at Shrewsbury and Chesterfield. The type of player we really need to make our final push for the prem

Hull, Leicester and Palace throw in the towel now.

Good to see the kid has been written off before he has (potentially) signed.

Agreed. We have some idiots on here. Why we can't support any signings we don't know anything about for the first few games before making a fair judgment on the player is beyond me!

He's a defender, 20 years old and according to his history is no better than any of our under 21 development squad.

You've lost me there I'm afraid. I wasn't even having a go at you in this thread as you backed up your post with facts. I actually agree with you his history doesn't make great reading, but maybe he's improved since those loan spells? I was having a go at those making sarcastic comments and having a snipe at Malky for being linked with this player, as well as sniping at the player himself before he has even had a chance to show us what he can do and we haven't even signed him yet. A bit over the top and unfair on both Malky and the player don't you think? None of us have seen him play yet!

Well that will be exactly why you don't buy a player based on their Wiki page sir :D

A 20 year old defender who can only be improving at this stage of his career, yet some of our fans are already writing him off without ever seeing him play, incredible!

I think your completely missing the point. You seem to think he will add value to our promotion push. How exactly ? and how much better is he than Nauts ?

Maybe he will add value to our promotion push? Has anyone seen him play? I haven't but that doesn't mean I will write him off before he even kicks a ball for us like some of you are. Maybe he will be a hell of a find and make you all look very silly for writing him off? Giving the boy a chance first would be helpful!

Does he have to? He might add a bit of depth for the run in, he might be one for the future, who knows.

I'm not saying don't sign him, he's still young enough to develop in our system, but not ready for a first team place I wouldn't expect, and by the way sir I didn't get his history off Wiki. :) ;)

We dont need maybe's, we need proven quality to ensure we dont do 'a Cardiff'

I agree but we've gone down the "proven quality experienced route" with Fowler, Hasselbaink, Sinclair etc in the past. We are 8 points clear with a lot of young kids in our team, so I would like to think Malky knows what he's doing. The worrying thing for me is I believe Hurst is a right back and this probably means we have missed out on Brayford (that's if we ever did go for him of course), but I will always give every player a fair chance, especially if I haven't seen him play yet.

Think he played against us for Brum in the 2-1 win, positioning was quite awful

Well at least you have given an opinion after actually seeing him play. I just checked his Wiki and he did come on as a sub, but I can't remember anything about his performance. Let's see if we actually sign him first.
