I agree it wasn't the best performance but it was a point gained against a well organised team in poor conditions who could well have left South Wales with all 3 points had it not been for the width of Marshall's goal-post.
Everything about Cardiff's play lacked urgency during the game, our counter attacks seemed to slow to a snails pace and we were left trying to pick passes through a well organised Ipswich backline, some of the passing was woeful and i would have to use my hands and feet to count how many times we lost possession from sloppy passes.
Gestede upfront was poor, his control, timing and just his general link up and hold up play is nothing short of shocking for a player at this level, Malky must see something different in training to what we see on the pitch.
Conway is poor, he hasn't got the pace to beat the full back or run into space like Noone has on the right wing and the left is the area where play slowed right down when the ball was played to Conway, often outcrowded due to the slowness of his play he loses possession and invites pressure back onto the midfield. He is good at getting back to help his full back but very limited otherwise.
All in all it was a good point gained in the circumstances, Malky really needs to look at Conway's and Gestede's involvement in the first team. I can see Noone switching to the left wing and the experienced Tommy Smith going on the right wing. If Malky insists on playing a Target man upfront then he needs to go and get a Carlton Cole type player who can bully and fight upfront to relieve the burden on Helguson because looking at Gestede impersonating a footballer is just making me want to cry !!
Sort it out Malky and we will go up automatically !!!
