Another false January?

Mon Jan 14, 2013 12:00 am

We are close, we are very close... But still we don't finalise the deals?

I honestly hope we do not miss out on our targets this January.

I firmly believe it will have a huge boost/impact on the current crop. And will push on towards our goal.

A full back and a striker will see us win the league IMO.

I just hope we get them. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If we sign someone to compete with Andrew Taylor at left-back then i'd be more than happy with that! In fact i actually hope we don't sign a striker unless it someone who's top, top class and could play at Premier League level, and not the likes of Sordell that we've been linked with, who is a solid Championship player at best.

Without sounding offensive, how do you know we are close but missing out?

Re: Another false January?

The clubs that have gone up recently have all strengthened in January.

If we didnt it would make it a lot harder. Would also make me question Malaysian commitment.

If we didn't it would make it a lot harder. Would also make me question Malaysian commitment.............................I note with interest that you would lay all the blame on our owners, but none on Mackay, now Barry is it not conceivable to you, that maybe, just maybe, that if we don't sign anyone in January, that it could possibly, just possibly be down to Mackay ?

JT, the "We are close" isn't meant to be an ITK statement, it's based on January threads of current standing and ones gone by.

We all know how close we were to getting Noone and Sordell last January but the failed in the end.

I just hope we strengthen this window..

Fair enough just wasn't sure. I would have thought it would look from the outside looking in we were closer than it appears we are. But there is timeous a loan infow to go. But we are lacking up front, no doubt.

I can't believe how stressed people get about transfers. If we sign players then great but if not we go on.

It's not like the transfer window is closed.

No, I wouldn't. I'd much prefer us sign some quality players.

Luke, the post quotes "Hope" and states my belief what a few new signing a would do for the squad.
And it says "hope we don't miss out on our targets"

No Stress or panic mate.. Just a realistic outlook and opinion. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I don't mean your post mate, just fans in general seem to go quite crazy during the transfer window.

So it's the Malaysians fault again ?

The money was there last year or do you think Malky bid for Noone , Sordell and Mackie on the never never ?

Malky has also said he's concerned about unsettling the squad with transfers , or maybe you don't believe him ?

Most deals are done in the last few days where for example if a club was going to sell a player they would want to have their own transfer targets virtually secured prior to letting the player leave
Malky has also stated that the club will not be held to ransom over fees but I do believe tan will put pressure on him to bring quality players in.
The other side of the coin of course is all the people who have moaned about tan running up debt will be quite happy not to see players come in

Well we are led to believe that quality signings are on the way with only top players targeted. Will see if the club delivers ?

Where have I said that? Please stop putting words in my mouth.

If we do fail to bring anyone in, it would be at the detriment of our promotion bid. If they really wanted to push it, they'd back our manager.

We desperately need a striker.

You would think so but it seems some posters want the debt to go down well signing a load of players

So how much do you think they should provide Malky to show their commitment to this club ?1 million, 10 million or maybe 60 million?
