What do you expect the w.a. g to do about it, if bristol want to run buses then they are entitled too, you can't stop them, makes good business sense. Well done bristol.

The last time I flew from Cardiff. Some Iobsworth told me it was illegal for my mrs to drop me off on the access road and you had to pay the parking fee!

Use Bristol mostly, good facilities, convenient flights and better priced.

Absolutely, capitalism rules, survival of the fittest and if cardiff airport can't keep up, then cardiff airport will go down the pan no good blaming bristol airport.

It's all about management. 20 years ago the 2 airports had similar routes and passenger numbers. Bristol attracted easyjet and Ryanair whilst Cardiff got rid of Ryanair and the rest is history

The only good memory I have of Cardiff airport is seeing Concorde land there back in '03. Bristol beats it by a country mile

Easyjet were due to come to Cardiff Airport and not Bristol. Obviously Easyjet wanted to strike a deal on landing fees but Cardiff would not reduce their prices so they went to Bristol Airport.

Cardiff had the ability to maintain high prices as it was the western approach emergency landing site for London, but that honour lost its lustre over time but Cardiff maintained their high prices.

Anyone in South Wales that would bat an eyelid to save Cardiff Airport have go a screw loose. The job situation is bad enough as it is without use losing an international airport that can induce overseas investment.

I dont blame Bristol, I fly many times a year to Malaga to visit my property and the cost of a flight to Malaga from Bristol is normally £60 or £80 minimum cheaper from Bristol. I would welcome these buses :D

On the other hand I would love to fly from Cardiff, problem is the landing fees charged from Cardiff airport is very high which means higher prices

Something has to be done quick to bring businesses and jobs to Wales, the airport is a national scandal, I honestly believe our AMs and MPs dont give a damn as long as they will end up with their gold-plated pensions

Thats part i dont understand! Owned by spanish company, but very slow to expand operations there! give people what they want and they will use it. Its that simple. Accsess is better here despite w.a.gs refusal to help it. If nothing done soon can see it closing as wont be viable to owners.

Re: cardiff/bristol airports

The Welsh Government will buy it and ensure it is competitive to ensure it is well used. If that means dropping landing charges, improving access, inducements to budget airlines to switch I am sure it will happen.

Thw WG have more financial clout than Bristol. When they use their financial and political influence to attract companies to the immediate surrounding area it will have a major effect.

It will take a few months to sort out but let's wait and see if the purchase goes ahead.
