£36 for Leeds away, how about £62 for Arsenal away

Sun Jan 13, 2013 6:20 pm

Man city fans sent back 900 tickets for tonight's game. At £62 a ticket i can not see how ANY football club in the world can justify charging anybody at that price.

If we go up this season I for one could never justify an expense of £62 plus travel and day costs (£120) to go watch a football games. Thats ruffly 35% of my season ticket. As much as i would love to see Cardiff play this game I think its time football collectively took a stand against this gross over pricing of football. Its tantamount to emotional blackmail, I would walk to London if i had to but making honest working class football fans stump up serious amounts of cash to see their club is disgusting.

for some people who take their family members this is an expense multiplied.

this is just my opinion.

I would never pay that much.

Wenger got interviewed on this. Basically its the high wages they pay. I wonder how long it will be before there is a backlash of this.

Arsenal put them tickets on sale to home fans, and they sold them..

There`s the problem, people are daft enough to pay that price so the clubs wont drop their prices knowing they can sell them high..
These prices are killing the atmosphere at grounds, When there`s loads of away fans the atmosphere is good.

Exactly! but you cant just blame the players even tho they are easy targets! FIFA and FA must take a collective stand on this and put down a universal caps on both player wages and ticket prices! I can feel a backlash coming from true fans who support their clubs but we ALL need to do something about it!

Football is NOT a business. Fans are NOT customers, the clubs were set up by the communities and have been living off communities for decades. Until football clubs are not seen as billionaire toys and more like community non profit organisations this will never change.

I know my views are very idealistic but i studied a masters in Finance and have written a dissertation on football finance. I believe it can be achieved before football goes to the shit!

for us v Arsenal if we went up it would be a category C game so would be around £25 a ticket! only £62 for games v Spurs, City, United etc... was on SSN the other day!

Look out next season if you think 36 quid is a lot, its pretty much the norm for a lot of away games in the top league. West Away in a few weeks is 36 quid for us.

It will probably also be the minimum price for home games aswell
