women at football

Sat Jan 12, 2013 8:59 pm

I see loads of posts from people who don't like women at football, would these people like to see us have smaller crowds, are they chauvinistic, do they have trouble communicating with the opposite sex or do they have extreme Muslim views, its just interested me because I've been following the city for many years and the Mrs has been coming along for the last six or seven, at away games there seems to be more women than ever, what I don't get is these posters are so contradictory, they go on about home and away numbers, equality , anti extremism, so why anti woman

Some Blokes like to go with there Mates and that is fair enough i am one of them. Some like to go with there Mrs and that is fair enough. To me being old fashioned i like it being a Lads only affair letting off steam ETC a chance for Lads to be Lads. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Spot on. They tend to object to foul language too , no snatch at match .

Old fashioned as you say, I think football has changed beyond all recognition to what it was ten years ago though, I would definitely agreed with you then.

If you don't want your missus to ever go to football again then do what I did... I said I've booked 3 nights in milan to catch the Wales qualifier and do some shopping.
Fighting like f**k over there, she didnt want to go again after that....
Since then I've done Finland twice, Austria, Germany, Slovenia and a couple of others with the lads... :ayatollah:

I took my missus to one game. Russia 2nd leg when we didn't qualify. She didn't like it and didn't realise the enormity of Wales getting to a major tournament. I sure as feck didn't like it and was very angry after and she couldn't understand why  for me they shouldn't be anywhere near a football pitch.

There were always girls and women at the football, back in the 70s, and right through to today. More these days probably. Personally, I think its a good thing. They follow their club, and take an interest in the game. Good on them. My sister and my niece come to games, my niece went to Birmingham away with me. She knows more about the present-day game than I do

I think theres two types of women that go to the football. Those who want to go (like myself) and those who are not that bothered but have gone along with a partner. But on the other hand, over the years I have taken a guy that I was seeing to the game who doesnt support City andhe really pissed me off by offering his opinion on how City were playing etc and daring to have a neutral view on the game. I never took him again as going to the football with someone who isnt going to support City is annoying.

And to the guy who said women take offence at bad language - well I don't. When I go to the football I understand its a mans environment and have heard/seen alot which I would probably take offence to out of the footy, but inside the stadium it doesnt bother me and I couldnt care how much swearing etc there is. The only thing that did used to piss me off was guys pissing on the Bob Bank. Other than that I couldnt give a toss, Im there to watch the games, not you.

The worst thing is, some of these people moan about women at football then also moan about how Islamic Sharia law (the law that takes away all but the most basic rights from women) musn't be allowed to take over our country, adn that all Muslims should be thrown out.

It's nice to get away from them for a couple of hours, and it gives them time to to tidy the house and have our tea ready when we get back from the football. :ayatollah:

Yea agree with you totally, it baffles me, can people really be that hypocritical, or are they selfish enough to want everything just the way they want it, eg my missus loves going to watch Cardiff, home and away, would they like to take that right away.
