Whitts - Goal Scoring

Sat Jan 12, 2013 8:09 pm

Whitts started the season scoring goals for fun. His last goal believe it or not was on 23rd October against Watford (Penalty) and he has gone 15 games without scoring. He hasn't been playing at his best either.

I wonder when the last time he went that amount of games without scoring. We could really do with Whitts reaching peak form and the net again to push on for promotion. He is a match winner but he needs to find his form again. Lets hope it's Blackpool away. :ayatollah:

Any other player would have been dropped to the bench by now.
In fairness to Whitts, he's never going to score if Malky continues to play him so deep.
He is our main creative attacking threat along with Noone and Bellers. Yet Malky cannot see that although he is creative and comfortable on the ball, this position is killing us and completely nulifying our main weapon.

Ffs Malky, stop thinking like a CB and use what tactical nouse you have and play our attacking players in attacking positions!
Let Gunnar play tippy tappy with Hudson. Not Whitts.
Perhaps Kimbo needs to have a role as creative director in front of the back 4 instead of what Whitts is doing now?

he has passed his peak though, he use to run himself into the ground scoring when he wants finished championship top scorer 3/4 seasons ago in his prime,

maybe now he is content in the midfield and not capable of the form he once produced, another question could be motivation
and willingness what has he to prove? in the championship he has proved to himself he can do it

Whitts has never played well playing so deep. Malky has done it before and Whitts stopped scoring and stopped setting up so many. If you want him to flourish then play him as an attacking midfielder end of :ayatollah:

Just hasn't got the killer instict. Good player yes, has loads of skill, but when the ball falls for you on the edge of the box you have a split second to think and strike. Some will get blocked some will fly over, some will go in. Whitts doesn't do it often enough!
