Decent result

Sat Jan 12, 2013 4:59 pm

Lets not panic.

Palace and Boro both lost putting us 10 points clear of third. Leicester on 47 points.

All in all, its a point won and not 2 dropped today!

We've dopped 5 points at home to two teams deep in the relegation battle. These are games we should be winning. Results went for us, we should have been extending leads by 3 points, not 1.

Teams in relegation battle usually give the tougher games because there fighting for there lives.

Give it a rest mate. We have picked up 4/6 vs Ipswich this season. Most, knowing they are one of our bogey teams, would have taken that if offered to us come the start of the season. We played poor, the weather didn't help but the players dug in deep for a well earned point. You won't win every game of the season. As for you saying we lost points vs relegation battling teams, when you are smashing every top of the table team into oblivion as the stats prove then you can afford the minor blip against those lower down the table. Lets not forget Palace and Boro dropped points vs two mediocre teams today as well. Im sick of this 'we should win every game attitude', its not realistic, they are humans after all and todays point puts us 10 points clear of third. As long as we achieve autos I will be a happy chap.

We'll all be happy if we achieve autos but i just don't happen to think that 0-0 with ipswich Town at home is a decent result.

I do feel Leicester will be a threat, regardless of points difference at moment. whilst we are dragging our heels in the transfer market and cant score against a team with worse defensive record in league, they have signed Chris Wood who is banging them in left, right and centre.

Its all well and good signing someone late in the window, but them doesn't give them a chance to make an impact for the whole of January! :(

It's a disgrace.

Out of 13 home games, dropping points from 2 of those games is unacceptable

the board should really think about getting rid of Malky

Dumb it down as much as you want, we've gone further clear of third

If you think we should win every home game this season then you really shouldn't be commenting on a game you don't really understand

Did I say we should win every game of the season, as I said earlier dress it up any way you want, it's points dropped and I wonder if your view would be the same had Boro and Palace won today ?

No it wouldn't but they didn't win today did they? We are seeing it as it is and not what it could have been. Hate this hypothetical argument that always pops up when someone tries to prove a point. Go on what actually took place today, not what could have. If's, buts and maybes mean naff all. What actually took place is everything. The table goes on statistical facts, nothing else.

Genuinely hope you're right. Only time will tell.

Here's a stat for you. The last team we did the double over Ipswich was 1946/47. Should be winning those games but we are still 10 points clear of third so not going to complain

Re: Decent result

Sat Jan 12, 2013 5:41 pm

I am seriously concerned. We haven't played well at home for a while now and if anyone thinks we deserved to win against Millwall and Palace you need to take your rose tinted spectacles off. Happy with a point but it's not looking good.

Anyone would have taken 4/6 points vs Ipswich at the start of the season. They are under performing as a whole this season but there is no doubt on their day they can be a very resilient and hard team to play against. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Any game you lose or draw is points lost doesn't matter if you are man utd or Shrewsbury town. We are not going to win every game. I would rather drop points to the lower teams than our promotion rivals. We are top of the league with a nice little gap. Chill out. :ayatollah:
