Parking in Asda car park-match day

Fri Jan 11, 2013 5:14 pm

I normally get the train/ park car further from the ground but I'm rushing straight from work tomorrow. Parking will be a nightmare by the time I get there, parking in Asda's would be handy! How strict is no parking in there these days?

You will get a ticket,

I believe they use a camera system and after 2 hours it will authorise a ticket.

You are allows up to 2 hours parking there, I don't think there is any way around it, as the camera logs you goin in and they back out and knows how long you have been there.

That's what I think anyway

they will issue with whats known as a 'speculative invoice', ie. an unenforceable, fake parking ticket.

so although there will be no financial loss to you, they will hassle you for money which they have no right to, so unless you are willing to put up with a few threatograms (they give up after a while) then park a bit further away mate.

This I have always parked by DW Sports when i've gone down in the car. Never once had a ticket. You need to get their early to get a space though and yes, leave a JD sports drawstring bag on passenger seat. If its empty just looks like you've taken your towel in the gym.

^^ This, they are uninforcable but they continue this strategy by scaring people into paying through ever increasing nasty letters followed by eternal silence

If you're coming and parking, don't park by Asda. They're the only ones willing to enforce a 'fine'. It's pretty enclosed so you know how much of the parking space is allocated to them. Try to park away from it, you should be fine.

Park at the end of Weillington Street on the double yellows as long as your not to close to the lights. Ive only had one ticket there and that was because I stayed up in the bar for an hour after the game
