Was sat outside central today waiting for my train home and some one came up to me asking for money so he could get the train home he gave me this sop story about how he'd lost his wallet and that he needed a quid more to get home, so I gave him a quid and he walked off to an old lady to ask her for money, I was waiting for about 30 mins and for the whole time I was there he was going up to loads of old people asking for money, he wasn't homeless and his clothes looked washed etc.. How low must you be to beg people for a few pence around around a train station, hate fake beggers who are doing it as a con ! I genuinly feel sorry for those who are homeless through no fault of their own or just need a little help but for thos who do it as a con disgusting, any body else see this ? Was around the 2.15 mark outside central ?

It's usually going on cheap vodka anyway.

Think I might know who your on about only I saw him outside howells, he was an oldish bloke, late 40s early 50s ? Was aring a black sleeping bag as a rucksack ? Is that who your on about ?

Looks like we have the same guy Carl with a K, he has a little whiny voice to boot that makes me want to punch him. Doesn't seem the junkie/alcoholic type but hes a crafty bugger. How Albany Road has fallen in the last decade or so...

Never give them money. Offer them food or something and if they're genuine they will take it. Had one guy before say 'not hungry, i've just eaten, I need the money'. Obviously an addict so just walked away from him. Its very easy to tell the genuine ones from the scam artists. I usually report them if they are scammers. People shouldn't have to put up with it and old people especially, when a little crack head runs up to them off their head it can be quite intimidating.

8/10 people (usually elderly) give him the 40p as well which winds me up as I've seen him there about 10 times.

Never rule it out folks....big changes coming in April, benefits, NHS closures, redundancies.....you could be there yourself.

There is usually a guy who sits to the left of central station and I often give him money when if I'm drunk in town, and for some reason always say "I'll give you my change because your Scottish" no idea why ...... Alcohol makes you say daft things.
