Prem league

If we do get there and manage to stay there would you be happy with being a mid table team or bottom half team season after season like Wigan ,stoke,or a fulham me there would be no fun in it at all

Re: Prem league

Provided we have a team to support I'd accept consolidation for a few years. :ayatollah:

Relegation battles are more exciting than the title race (IMHO FACT!!)

Lets be honest you ain't got a hope of being anything more than a bottom half team. And that is IF you make it. Starting saturday though the doubts will creep in :o

Re: Prem league

yes. We need to be there a good few years to be in the position where we could spend enough to be one of the top teams. It might even be good for the atmosphere to be in the occasional successful relegation dogfight.

We will have more pull in the prem than you we the capital

Re: Prem league

Fri Jan 11, 2013 1:49 pm

My view is that WHEN we get promoted there will be a bigger group of players who will want to play for us (Premiership, Capital City) and that Tan Sri will spend a sufficient amount of money for us to challenge for a top 6 place.

That's my view and based on the fact that he wants continued success (Berjaya=Success) suggests that he will not be happy with a 10th place side in the Premiership

Just my thoughts.....

This forum goes into meltdown when we lose one game out of 8, I imagine some of our members will be committing suicide should we be in a relegation dogfight.

Has a Swansea fan really got nothing better to do than troll another teams forum? I mean what's the point? Is your club that tedious and boring that you somehow have to fill your day posting on other football team sites.

Agree. Only interested in promotion for the financial safety it will give the club.

Boring survival tactics do not interest me. The only thing to look forward to for 75% of the clubs there is to get to 38 points.
No excitement of top of the table games. Just playing not to lose (rather than to win).

There is also the danger of doing well and having to play in the Europa League

you really are such an imbecile with your drivel at every opportunity, you make the decent jack posters here look very stupid and they must cringe every time you post on here, unbelievable.
If you got no decent debate then please do us all a favour and go away and never come back to our board.
You really do make yourself look stupid and far from intelligent.

All I would say is keep this post and monitor it next season.

I am not only a supporter of Cardiff but I am also a Premiership and Football League Photographer for the National Newspapers. I see lots of matches and suggested to a friend in October that Swansea would finish top 10. Yes it hurt to say it but it was based on reliable evidence of me seeing Swanseas competition week in week out.

As for next season I genuinely believe that a concerted effort will be made by Tan Sri. Not because of what I have heard within the club but from what I know about him as a person. He doesn't do 10th place it's not good enough. He has a big reputation that he wants to enhance and he has the finances to make it happen.

Best of luck to Swansea but just keep this message for future

Tbh! "I know this may sound stupid" but if we do go up, I'd rather us spend fukall and go with what we got, even if that means we get thumped every week, get relegated but use all the money from our first season in the prem league, to clear our debts.

:? with all due respect, I can't understand your reasoning behind that statement above!
Cardiff City's debt is VT's debt and he will choose whether he wants to put his money into the club because its his club so the debt is his also so how would getting relegated from the premier league, (if we get there), benefit Cardiff City, we may aswell stay in the Championship, don't you think?

No due respect needed what so ever. And if its vts debt, then why the fuk are prominent "in the know fans on here" posting that we are 105mill in debt? if that's the case then staying in the championship aint going to ease our debt, unless we start selling the furniture. Gaining promotion and using the money we get from having a season in the top flight is a Good way of paying a large chunk of that debt off no?

NO! it doesn't matter if the debt is 1mill or 1billion its VT's debt, and if it was our debt as in the past then getting promoted to the prem and then get relegated again would be very pointless and wouldn't help the debt one bit, think about it.

See, now this is what's confusing to me! from what I can gather from posts on here about the debt, its not vts debt, the money he is pumping into our club is only being loaned to us. Is that correct? Well if that's the case, then going up to the prem league and spending loads more on players and adding even more to that dept, with no guarantee of surviving relegation, will only add to the already staggering debt we have. At least by going up and using the money we gain from promotion on clearing a large chunk of our debt, it would be better for our club? We still may survive in the prem league with the players we have, but if we don't then paying off a large chunk of our debt with the premiership money will put us in a better financial situation if we do go straight back down... More than anything, I want to see our clubs debt go down. I don't want us ending up like pompey, I'd rather us use the money from the prem league to lower the debt hanging over our club, even if that means we come straight back down...that's if we do go up of course Lol

Incorrect, he is loaning himself the money as there is no way he can recoup that, in the past our chairman have loaned money from outside sources and that of course becomes debt to our club because we owe the money to independent organisations, ie Langston. Tan is putting his own money into his own club, that's the difference, how can he possibly ask for his own money back.
