ROBERT EARNSHAW

Fri Jan 11, 2013 1:09 am

As a massive fan I am gutted to see,Earnie possibly at his last few days at the club.

I have more fond memories of Earnshaw in a city than I do bad ones.

From the fantastic hatrick at loftus road to tearing the Leeds defence and Ian Harte in particular a new arsehole in the cup match.

All the best Earnie..... One of my all time favourites :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

He should never have come back.

Will always remember when he was really with us though, a class above every division he played in for us.
Him and throney were brilliant together, a proper partnership.

Earnshaw and Thorne is the best strike partnership I have ever witnessed at Ninian park.

Thorne IMO was one of the most underrated players I've ever seen. He was a great team player but always got crucial goals.

MM didn't send him at the end of the day.

Maybe not but MM should have been stronger and told the owners he didn't want him.

If the deal was already done, as has been implied. What could he do?

He officially signed nearly a month after MM joined.

It was rumoured a long time before he signed.

I think MM should have put his foot down but we live and learn.

im guessing Dave jones will be in for him,

shame about dave jones being such a bitter T*** towards us mind i would wish jones luck.
instead I will say that its all jones's fault for taking such an arrogant approach to football

if there is one thing we can all learn from malky mackay its that in football being mentally focused and
in touch with your players is far more important than having big name players

I will always praise DJ for what he done and how far hes taken us.

Quite sad not to see him take us 1 step further but hes one reason why we are in this position well MM is in charge now but the expectation bar with him in charge was higher and higher.

Even though he has gone the problems I didn't like about him where there when he was with us.

Its intresting to see Malkys strengths as a Manager since hes been with us.

Last season we worked on a tight budget and considering our squad I enjoyed last season as there was no expectation from us but somehow MM managed to take us further than I thought he would. We were out of gas at the end of it but to even get a play off place was incredibe.

This season he has worked with a large budget and has plenty of strength just a player or 2 off. We are sitting 7 points ahead of 2nd and got a fantastic home record and now a strong away record in recent weeks. Even though you look at our squad and this is what you expect at the end of the day MM is doing what you expect with the squad which was what DJ failed to do in the last season with us.

Best targetman I've seen in a City shirt.

Helguson is good in the air, but not as good as Peter Thorne. If he hadn't had his injury problems he would have taken us up.

His work rate was top notch, fair play. Always looked class on the ball.

With the amount of goals he set up for Earnie........his assist bonus must have been the same amount as his goal bonus as you'd not see many strikers being that selfless otherwise!

Earnie signed before MM arrived fact. Also MM didn't take to him cos he didn't sign him. And he persisted with thst useless Miller instead of Earnie. Only fault Ive seen with MM so far tho :ayatollah:

If we don't sign a 25 goal a season striker this month, I'd rather keep him in the squad.

Definetely.

When he was aked about staying/leaving the club, you could tell he was more inclined on staying I think. He says he wants to be here, playing, and helping the team get to the top and promoted to the Premiership.

Exactly. He will run is arse off for us every single minute he gets (which granted might not be many). On today's showing, we need that in the squad. I also remember thinking he always looked sharp last season whenever he came one, just never really got the chance.
