Brayford In , Super Kev out

We need cover at Left back and you have to ask yourself why would we be interested in another right back ?
Super Kev to Sheffield Wednesday maybe ?

we are short on cover as it is why let a defender go :?

I did really wonder whether Super Kev could be the one heading to Sheff Wed :(

Be absolutely devastated if he goes, i couldn't name you a better right-back defensively. :(

He did a brilliant job on Zaha.

but a Full-backs job is so much more nowadays and his football and distribution in the
oppositions half lets him down. Sad to say.

Both McNaughton and Earnie going to Sheff Wed.

I do know what you're saying but i honestly think that his defending is so good that it almost makes up for his poor distribution! All i know is I feel a lot safer with a winger running at Super Kev than any other full-back, or when he's covering behind the centre halfs with his perfectly timed tackles etc. :ayatollah:

super kev can do a job left back simple & if need be declan john showed every1 he can do a job if were in a injury crisis

matt conn & brayford right backs & super kev & tayls left back

keep super kev til the end of season good players that can play all across the back 4 :old: :old:

Honestly, 2 years ago he was the best player at the club in a team that included Bellamy, jay, Burke and chopra. He's suffering from low confidence with the ball at his feet at the moment. All players go through bad spells, just look at Torres, his has lasted 3 years. Get off his back and we'll see the best of super kev again!

Respectfully, your talking bollocks about Kev.Nothing wrong with his confidence and as others have said probably one if not the best in this league. But he's only a 5 out of 10 for distribution and probably less for crossing and where were hoping to go he'll be found out in the end.So if he could get a 3yr contract out of DJ and we could get a fee I would say thats good business.

i think players must read this messageboard because we never used to say anything about kev, just loved him. As soon as someone said his distribution was poor it got really poor. i know people are saying he's a brilliant defender but he's no way as good as conolly defending or going forward

Getting rid of a defender is a stupid.. put a recall clause in the contract then thats okay.

Would be insane to let Kev do when he can cover the entire back 4

Connolly isn't even in the same league as Kev defensively (as a full-back anyway).

I agree. Still not sure about Connally at fullback.

Same, he does a good job there but you can tell he's a natural centre half rather than a full-back. Definitely not the answer in the long run for me, especially if we were in the Premier League.

Malky has stated that no player will be leaving this club unless its on loan for experience. That was of course before Earnie came back who he has now stated is available.

It would just not make sense whatsoever to let a player like McNaughton go, especially on loan, at a time when we are really going for it and has no worries about the budget.

If DJ is interested in some of our players then on the back of what MM has publicly said, it can only be young players such as those who played in the FA Cup who have no chance of playing first team football for City during the rest of this season e.g. Jarvis

Yeah I agree.
It's not that he is bad at fullback he just isn't natural.

Away from home not so bad if he isn't expected to go forward so often and can get closer to the CB's

At home he doesn't offer enough width and gets a little lost at times.

Still having an excellent season tho.

This!!

People spent most of December questioning why Malky didn't strengthen the back 4. Then moaned when we signed lappin on an emergency.
Defensively at this level kev is very good. (First and foremost that's his no1 job)
Going forward he is poor. But in saying that he does get wide he does get forward and when he's confident he over laps and will get at his man. Just the final cross or pass is poor.

To let him go would be madness though. Good squad player and can play anywhere across the back four when called upon.

Respectfully it is blatant he is suffering from low confidence. Firstly he's bound to be questioning his ability as this season he's found himself not first choice since he's been here. You can just tell when he gets the ball he's nervous hence he's making more mistakes than he normally would. Given a run in the team I've no doubt that he would be a much improved player on what we've have seen of his bit part showings recently

im gonna have to stick by my comment, connolly is better. i know kev does his one on ones very well and is hard to beat but connolly is better positioninally and doesn't get beaten. its Taylor who lets the most crosses through from bad positioning although he's decent going forward

Would love KM at ashton gate. Never seen him have a bad game against us ciderheads, and is an exceptional defender at this level. If available then yes please derek, get him onboard the relegation dogfight. ;)
