Lack of transfer activity-Worried ?

Thu Jan 10, 2013 9:26 pm

With the transfer window almost a third of the way through do you think Malky is being to cautious. IMO if he has a healthy transfer budget as rumored then the offers should have gone in by now. How will fans feel if we still haven't signed anybody by the 20th of this month, remember last January was a disaster with Noone, Matt Phillips and Sordell all either turning us down or bids being refused by their respective clubs. I know you pay over the odds in January but at the moment we are one of two clubs with genuine momentum in this division. One full back and two strikers and we wont be caught leave it to late and who knows 3 injuries across our defence or strikeforce and we could struggle.

Calm down brother, we'll have people in soon don't worry. I have faith that malky won't make the same mistake as last year

Not worried in the slightest. I will trust Malky`s judgement.

My concern is that we haven't made a bid for a player according to sky/bbc sport media sites.

All that means is that we're keeping our cards close to our chest. Haven't got any leaks going out

if you're not premier league they don't usually pay too much attention, they didn't say we had bid for 70% of the players we got last year :ayatollah:

No mate it just means we haven't bid for a player yet, remember Sordell was due to sign at the end of the last transfer window changed his mind last minute a we didn't have time to line up a replacement. I not really worried yet, but if there are still no bids lodged by the 20th I will be. Also if we start to drop points any potential transfer targets fees will rise as we will be seen as trying to address a slide.

Check out Sky sports transfer center, they cover all divisions in fairness.

Sky sports news don't know everything, we may have put a bid in for someone already, it just hasn't been leaked. It's the 8th of January, plenty of time yet. As I said earlier, I'm sure malky won't make the same mistake last year. Be positive.

And I think even if we don't sign anyone we'll still go up.Put it another way,if Bellamy was to get injured this saturday who could we get in that would give us what he gives-nothing in our financial league.I was interested to read that Tommy Smith said that we've already got a bigger squad than when he was with QPR the season they went up. :ayatollah:

Also, this time we have 12 days from our last match of the month to sign someone if need be.

Last year we had a Carling Cup semi for Malky to focus on and a deadline day game away at the leaders. This time, a much more preferable scenario...

Reading through all the postings on here, still suggest to me that there is a nervousness,a twitching amongst Mackays most loyal lieutenants, that will only cease when the chosen one brings in some new faces, they well remember Mackays last efforts in the January transfer window and pray the Scotsman does not make the same mistakes again, they also note, with growing alarm that our rivals are making more than decent signings of their own,now it is more than possible that this time tomorrow,Mackay would have added some quality signings to our squad, but until that becomes a reality, the nervousness and the twitching will continue

Your analysing skills are second to none. Please tell me, oh great one, tell me Malky isn't the man to take us up to the promised land?

My dear Bridgend_bluebird,how i wish i had a crystal ball that would help me answer your question, the test for Mackay may not be,whether he can get City to the promised land, but if he did, could he keeps us there?...i have to say,the jury is still out on that one,my dear chap

I can't even tell who is joking anymore. It's starting to corrupt my own perception of reality.

Patience its only the 11th of jan <<< we had that old chestnut every day last jan on here
Everybody knows we need defensive cover and a striker, if we dont get both and fail thats where the blame will go if we dont go up and get injurys along the way (same as last season after jan), last season the blame went down to lack of players yet everyone including MM harped on about it for 9months of how we needed more squad players :ayatollah:

Didn't Malky say that there wouldn't be much activity as he didn't want to upset the squad ?
Maybe there was a lesson to be learnt from the Conway saga ?
I think this board has built up most folks expectations . The money is there if Malky needs it but let's remember that Malky is pretty shrewd ... and Scottish :D
