Not The Jinx

Thu Jan 10, 2013 4:50 pm

For some years, I've worried that I might have been the jinx that has caused Cardiff to suffer a few catastrophic defeats, missed play-off opportunities, etc. A few of you may have had similar worries - did you seem to be only going along to games that Cardiff lost?

Well, this season, Cardiff have done a lot better of course, and despite going to the Peterborough game, I then went to the next 3 (all wins). Missed Birmingham, but I'm coming to the conclusion after all that I am not the jinx!

However, I wonder if, for any reason, there might be someone who has not been coming along this season, and plans to attend most of Cardiff's remaining fixtures for the year? Don't mean to be mean, but maybe it would be better if such a person stayed at home and listened on the radio? At least until next season? If you've already bought any tickets, sure the club could give you a refund. Just in case you're the jinx?

You'd think I was Tan here, with this sort of superstitious post..

I NEVER listen to BBC Radio Wales for any game when I haven't travelled to an away game, not because of the poor punditry because I always feel like it's unlucky when I listen to it!

Surely you can't transmit bad luck over radio waves can you? Must hurt though, not being able to listen, if you believe that could possibly be the case.

I find this as well. The only away game I've listened to on the raidio this year was Bristol City. Never again! :(

Having been in uni I had missed the majority of home games this season. Came back for christmas and went to the Peterborough game and to only see us lose. Felt gutted and thought I was a jinx (though normally dont believe in that shite) but thankfull we went onto to win the following home games :D

Aye it does cos you don't know how the team have played or anything at all, luckily I've missed about 3 aways the rest I've been to but I just check my phone or that or watch Soccer Special/Saturday, just the radio feels unlucky, whenever I've listened to it, it sounds so negative

I reckon TLG is the jinx.

My neighbours car if its there we win, Wasn't there for P'Boro or Charlton, Didn't realise how important it was, so didn't notice against Palace,Bolton or Bristol.
So I think letting Tyres down may be called for, For the rest of the season :D

My car was the jinx last season.

I bought it in Swansea and then we went on that awful run around the Carling Cup final :(

Before every home game this season whether I have been at the stadium or listening to City Player I have kissed the bluebird on my retro Cardiff City blue and white striped scarf.

The only home game I have not done this for was the Peterborough game.

Never realised what a superstitious bunch Cardiff fans could be - maybe VT has found the right club after all. I agree about suspicions about TLG.

haha this is a brill thread. the amount of people who messed up for peterborough is hilarious and im one of them. 3 of us go through particular turnstiles each game in a certain order but that order has only been messed up at pboro because of queues......mad
