Malky will not buy a player during January

Tue Jan 08, 2013 10:30 pm

I think the best we can expect will be loan players. I really don't think we will buy anyone, especially following the news that Maynard will be back soon and Smith is now available.

We have done brilliantly without them and if we didn't already have them as our players and Malky announced we were going to buy them in this window the fans would be ecstatic with the business done and would mostly state that we are showing our intent to get promoted. What is the point of us paying inflated prices for players now who will be at best good Championship players and not good enough for the premier league.

The money would be better spent in the Summer window, where the players we want now, will be much cheaper.

What news that Maynard will be back soon?

He may be doing some light running - but that doesn't mean he will be fit to play soon.

If he is back for the last few games that will be a massive bonus - but no risks.

Only Malky really knows when Maynard will be back, some have said it could be as early as the end of February.

I just think Malky will not pay over inflated prices for players he knows will be much cheaper in the summer. The right loan player from the premier league will still be more than capable of doing the job. :ayatollah:

I also got the feeling we won't sign anyone. Tbh I wouldn't mind seeing the january transfer window being scraped.

I personally think we didn't sign anyone in January last season because Vincent Tan wanted us to fail in blue so he could get his way with rebranding us. Some of you will laugh at that statement, but it's a coincidence how we have suddenly signed some players for big money in the summer after Vincent Tan rebranded us. We all know the rebrand has brought our club no financial benefits whatsoever, so I can't think of any other reason why Vincent Tan decided to allow Malky to sign players last summer, but not last January, apart from the fact he wanted us to fail last season in blue.

This January however, I believe Vincent Tan will back Malky with whatever Malky thinks is required to take us up, as I believe the rebrand and Premiership football will partially set us up for Vincent Tan to sell us on in the future, probably to a Chinese business who are mad on the colour red. Also, obviously, the more money Vincent Tan loans to us to sign players, the more money he will make from our club as we will have to one day pay him everything back, plus the extra 7% interest he is charging us. Part of me fears the more successful we are, the more Vincent Tan will vandalise our club. This is all just my opinion of course. But I think Malky will definitely be backed this month as it seems obvious Vincent Tan wants his "lucky red dragons" to get promoted this season.

Last year I made a post saying maybe Malay was saving his January money for the summer as his transfers were going to cost to much. We know for instance he wanted noone, yet he got him in the summer, for a little more than he wanted to pay in january but you also have to think did he save money there somehow by not spending then spending, strange paradox I know.
January is always an over priced time of year that Is one thing that shall remain consistent.

So Sordell and Noone were lying when they said they were hours away from signing for us last
January? So YES, I am laughing at that statement.

Its like 'conspiracy theory' on this site.

Vincent Tan is NOT a James Bond villain, even though he might look like one

Malky has a War chest. Tan has given him that War chest. Tan will want to know why
he doesnt spend money when its available. We WILL be buying players. All these threads
are just because we haven't YET.
