we will be in a stronger position to attract a player like austin when we get promoted.

Such a huge gamble to pay that sort of money.

What happens if he "does a Maynard"? Plays two games and is then out for the rest of the season?

If Burnley are pricing him too high now its because they dont want him
to go. Austin wont be that arsed cos if he gets another ten goals this
season his stock will have risen and he'll go for more than £10m AND
his agent will be able to milk the deal. The only way him or his agent
would pressure Burnley right now would be if it was a Premiership team
in for him

Or he could get injured after committing to Burnley and there won't be any offers in for him until he is fit again.

I think waiting is a dangerous game for a player to play, you never know what is around the corner, if the offer is good enough, from us or anyone else, for Austin or anyone else, I personally think they will be silly not to accept.

As has already been said, he could sign for someone and get injured, so who knows
