austin?

Mon Jan 07, 2013 8:46 pm

Mmmm as hes already scored 20odd goals so far would he score another 15 or s o with us that would give him 35 goals this season hard to see thst happenning , we needed them from start season, maybe sordell better option now? Austin great for premier but will he get enough goals now? Think sordell will

Have we made bid for him? Austin

Re: austin?

Mon Jan 07, 2013 8:47 pm

why is it hard to see it happening? if he is good enough and gets service he will get goals

Re: austin?

Mon Jan 07, 2013 8:49 pm

There isn't a fixed cap on goals :?

Just going on logic when was last time champ player scored 35goals? Point is are we going to get enough goals from him now? Hes a good forward so not disputing talent just are we abit late bidding for him?

Re: austin?

Mon Jan 07, 2013 8:54 pm

doesnt matter when the last time was. he already has 20 and if he did come here i would settle for another 10

I don;t understand what you're saying.

The fact he's scored 20 goals at this stage of the season shows he's exceptional.

With our wingers and midfield and Bellamy working with him I wouldn't be surprised if he managed another 20.

I think this is one of the most silliest threads ive read in here.

Its reasoning has the logic of chocolate teapot

THOU SHALL NOT SCORE MORE THAN 25 LEAGUE GOALS.

Highest scored in the last 8 years was 27 by Ricky Lambert last year. Lowest top scorer in the last 8 years was Peter Whittingham and Nicky Maynard in 2009-10.

Austin and Murray are flying.

Thankyou thats my point need score at least a goal every game nealy to reach 35goals

Re: austin?

it doesnt prove any point. just because someone hasnt scored 35 goals in this division before doesnt mean it cant happen.

how often do players score more than 30 in the premier league?

didnt earnie get 32 for us in league 1?

Nothing is guaranteed in football but your reasoning is stupid. If you cannot see that you need help.

Expecting him to score 15 from 20 is also stupid.

Another 10 in 18/19 league games off him would be brilliant.

All was saying its hard to score 35 goals and if we sign him will he score enough considering he has 20 odd already! And would sordell be better option thats all! How can this be pointless point?

Re: austin?

Mon Jan 07, 2013 9:22 pm

its difficult to score 35 goals for a lot of reasons

1. you have to stay fit
2. you need good players around you
and 3. you actually have to be good.

he already has 20 in 26 games, there is absolutely no reason he couldnt get another 15 in 20, though as i said previously, i would settle for him getting 10 if he were to join us

And you ridiculed my post . But now you saying he wont do what i questioned score 35 goals? Ok i give up ! Pointless on here saying anything.

Re: austin?

Earnie scored 31 in a lower division. The last player to score over 31 was Lee Hughes in 1999.

Guy Whittingham scored 42 in 1992. :ayatollah:

Expecting any striker to score 15 from 20 is stupid irrespective of what they've scored so far in the season.

In fact I;'d say a striker that's scored 20 in 26 would have far more chance than one who'd scored 10 in 26...

ITS A POINTLESS POINT BECAUSE YOU ARE TRYING TO SAY SORDELL IS MORE LIKELY TO SCORE MORE BECAUSE CHARLIE AUSTIN HAS ALREADY SCORED 20?!?!?!?

SORDELL HAS SCORED 3, AUSTIN HAS SCORED 20.

IF THE CHANCES PRESENT THEMSELVES WHO IS MORE LIKELY TO TUCK THEM AWAY?

Didnt say he wont do it saying your initial target of 15 goals in 20 games meaning a ratio of wanting him to score 3 in 4 games is stupid.

Would hope both! But yes austin i prefer ! I really was only being logic over ability to get 35+ goals as not been done since?? Hence sordell given right service can score lots goals aswell anyway only a thought!

But thats what he needs to do to scor e 35 goals so cant be stupid because thats whats required? Bit i give up on this point

Re: austin?

Mon Jan 07, 2013 9:39 pm

yes but you cant say its unlikely he will score more just because he has scored loads already, its nonsensical!

Re: austin?

Mon Jan 07, 2013 9:40 pm

Why has he GOT to do that??? Why has he got to get 35 goals? Where has this number come from :?

You think Sordell could get 15 in 20 but Austin couldnt??!

Didnt say wouldnt. Just questioned would
he ? given that last time happened was how many years ago?

Re: austin?

Mon Jan 07, 2013 9:44 pm

for gods sake why does it matter how many years ago it happened??

Should man united drop van persie? after all when was the last time someone scored 35 premier league goals?? surely welbeck will score more for the rest of the season?

You questioned wether he could then in same post said you think Sordell could.

Explain your logic Al?
