If maynard is going to be back before the end of the season?

Mon Jan 07, 2013 7:52 pm

Will Malky still go out and buy a striker?
i hope he does but now knowing Maynard might be back, Will he ease up on he search for a striker?
I reckon a defender is more important imo, but if the type of striker we are looking at is the like of Austen its all good but were would leave mason? I dont see Sordell as being better than mason imo but im sure Malky would pick him above mason. If he does go out and sign a striker i believe it has to be a top draw player or i dont see the point.

yeah i still think we need a striker but with Maynard looking like he'll be back Malky doesn't have to sign a player like Sordell who wont add much more to the team and just push Mason down the pecking order

I'd say yes, because let's be honest that come back date is always going to be a rough estimate and complications are always possible. Malky isn't the kind of guy to ride his luck and just be reliant on someone else (e.g. medical team). Another striker needed.

ive seen nothing of him . so i cant get excited over him, if it was bellars or whitts, noone, etc, i would be excited

i think he ll definetly bring a striker in,however a defender seems to be malkys priority and im certain we wont see a "marquee name" especially some of the nonsense on twitter linking us with just about everyone

I will happily take a bet that Maynard will not feature this season for us due to risking him to early, won't be match fit enough to make a difference and probably at the point where we wouldn't want to change things. Look at vidic time out - same surgery

i think its unlikely we will see him this season, he might well play some development games later this season, but if he is back in training already i think its a good sign.

Would be a tremendous boost to have him coming off the bench in April

Maynard won't be able to start games until April at best, might be too late for us if we don't get a quality striker in this month

Obviously a PR exercise to justify the fact that we wont be buying a striker in January.
