man united i think, alex fergusons replacement
Mon Jan 07, 2013 6:16 pm
Hard to have an opinion on him as i think anybody could manage that barca team and pretty much win every game.
What will he be like when he has to rebuild a squad good enough to compete at that level ?
Could well flop at his next club like AVB did a chelsea , and thats were he will go then get sacked after 8 months for being 3rd in the league

I don't think he is as amazing as some people make out. He has a lot to prove in his next job.
I think he will be Chelsea manager.

Very true
TEN of the eleven that started for Barcelona last night had come through
their youth academy. They were all there when he was still playing. I could
manage that team. There's the ball, its kick off time, see ya later!!

Anyone could have managed Barcelona when he was in charge.
just look at how well Villanova's doing now. He's in a better position in the league than Pep ever was.
It's the team not the manager in this case.

The manager of barcelona doesn't really have to do any work! All the hard work is done for them at youth level where any future first team players are taught how to play the "barca way" pep guardiola in my oppinion would find it hard at somewhere like chelsea, for the simple fact, he would first have to get rid of the big headed kunts in the dressing room that run the show, and secondly, he would be expected to build a team off his own back, and gain success in a short amount of time.

would he want to manage chelsea though and risk the good name he's made for himself ?

If he's as good as everyone says he is he should have no problem at Chelsea.

we all know mourinho is off to united!

I don't think so. Manchester united have been the most stable club in europe with a manager that's given his life to the club, last thing they will look for after fergie retires, is a manager like mourinho, who walks in and out of jobs because he thinks he's big enough to go where ever he wants at the drop of a hat. I'd expect the next manager of manchester united, to be hand picked by alex Ferguson himself, someone he's nurtured himself

Moyes will be next Man U manager imo.
Mourhino wants the job and Fergie does respect him but I can't see the board going for a maverick like him./ Especially as he likes to splash the cash and they've closed the purse strings recently.

I can see Pep being the next Arsenal manager after Wenger, no way he'll go to Man Utd,
They will either stick with a British manager - and it will be David Moyes
or they will be seisible and look to take the club further - and it will be Jose Mourinho
I believe Pep to be a great manager, yes it helps when you have the best footballing squad in the world, and 9 times outta 10 all you need to do is have Messi, Iniesta, Xavi and Villa on the field and you'll win, but Pep seems to be a great tactician. He was able to adapt Barcelona's style of play slightly to meet every demand (Vilanova has not yet learnt this - Celtic anyone?)
I think that with the style and attraction that Pep like to ingrain in his squad, he'll be wanted by Arsenal, and I think he'll succeed.
Chelsea would ruin him though - way way too much pressure at that club.

I know it may sound a bit wierd but i truly believe Ryan Giggs is being groomed for the Man Utd job by Sir Alex . I cant see him wanting an outsider taking his place and he will take a step back to director of football with Giggs taking the rains .IMO

I disagree, I think Utd will need an experienced manager who knows the league and Europe well enough to know how to compete, while still being open to advice and influence from Fergie.
That man will still be involved in a lot of what Man Utd do even after he steps down. He is Man Utd, and will always be, the way football is now, after Wenger, Fergie and Moyes.... I can't see clubs sticking with this long term manager system... They will all want to breed success as quickly as possible.
New managers will have to learn fast (Malky) and succeed, or they will fail and get sacked (AVB. Berg, Solbakken)

Can we all remember that Mourinho wins a Champion League with the club then he leaves.. so I highly doubt he will go with United.
Im not a fan of Pep Guardiola, such a baby he quit after he went out of the champions league, what a pathetic sportsman.

Money talks.
If They got him they would give him money to spend. They have already bought a few tippy tappy players like Barcelona liked with mata, Hazard, Oscar. They just need a manager and get rid of the old egos now and another 4-5 players and they are ready.

David Moyes will replace Alex Ferguson.

i suppose, so theres no doubt he will come to england, big question is with who,
each scenario will change the way people look at him;
chelsea=money grabber
man united=already walking into an easy job (will have fergie helping him)
arsenal=will actually prove if hes a good manager
man city any one ?

Malky - Pontypool Bluebird said so

Not sure they will go for Moyes as he has no european experience.

Guardiola is going to be the next Man Utd manager, his flat in New York is, guess what, right next door to Alex Ferguson. Could be just coincedence but he's waiting for the right job and I can only see it being United. It wont be Mourinho as he's going back to Chelsea. He's already enrolled his kids in a private school in London.

^ He will leave if he fails in a competition.
