Saw this mentioned on another post so thought to put up this link....
http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/10 ... bsession_/I think it's a new one but anyone who uses this site regularly can probably empathise with the story surely!
Surely not as bad as a drink / drugs problem, or sexual accusations etc But is it easier to overcome? How much impact can it have on the field I wonder?

He just sounds bored.

How can you be obsessed with f*cking twitter??
Mon Jan 07, 2013 2:56 pm
I don't use twitter but I imagine you could just have an infinite amount of people you are following, maybe more so friends and not celebrities? So that you can keep up to date with the details of all the mundane bullshit day-to-day things people do - when monotonous facebook status's are no longer enough for you??

With twitter I do find myself either never using it or using it a lot.
I'll follow him

Maybe it's just a plan to get a cross on MM dossiers

Fkin hell, that's embarassing. Why does Freedman need to disclose that kind information to the press?
Mon Jan 07, 2013 3:43 pm
I was thinking that - if you want to help him then why let the whole world know about his problem?
I guess it is a non-hostile explanation for his performance / lack of games, and if he is sold this could be the excuse to appease any fans.
Or maybe it's the opposite and it's something to put off MM.

This is a blatant ploy to deter any interest in the player.
Dougie is not an idiot, it's shrewd, more so considering Malky's infamous 'dossier'. Why else would you openly discuss a players personal issues?
Whether it has an effect is another matter.

And to think a poster the other day was saying MM was unprofessional because he said earnie wont get games

A young England footballer has had his phone taken off him — to help beat his Twitter “obsession”.
Marvin Sordell, 21, has become hooked on the social networking site since his £3.2million transfer to Bolton Wanderers from Watford last season.
The Under-21 striker has struggled to settle down in the northern town and manager Dougie Freedman admitted today: “There have been small issues off the field with his tweeting.
“It could be bordering on an obsession with Twitter and Facebook and all the things that go on with these kids.
“We are now trying to work with Marvin — by taking his phone off him.”
But Freedman dismissed rumours Sordell, who was part of the Team GB Olympic squad, would be leaving the Championship club.
He added: “He’s never had a problem on the field. He works very hard at training, he’s fit.
“We have just got to get him settled down and help him with some of the off-the-field antics.”
Sordell, who played for Team GB in the London 2012 Olympics, has 24,000 Twitter followers.
