Given our first team players are in the middle of a weekend off which gives them a two week break really , is it a good thing that they will have another two week break without a game at the end of the month or will it make them match rusty .
All of our top 6 opponents are either playing eachother in hard games or have tough weekday away games in the fa cup .
Hull have pretty easy fixtures on paper , palace have 3 long journeys north , borough have two top 6 teams to play , leicester have tough games so do watford .
I can see this being a good month for city with us staying 7 points clear going into feb but with a game in hand !

It will catch up with our competitors in April when the games start to stack up.

It's good for our guys to have a break because yes it will catch up on the other teams come April, but it's also good to keep a run of good games going and winning them to maintain momentum like we had over christmas. Pro's and Con's to both sides but I think us having the extra time off will benefit us and help us more overall :ayatollah:

I think its too much time off at a critical time in the season .
If i was malkey id be looking to take the team away for a few days somewhere like other teams do for warm weather training and building team spirit on that fa cup weekend .

boring January --cant see that this wonderful rest will do anything for the players who are young fit athletes --they will still have to train hard in shit weather----------

I just think I'd rather the break than the chance of injuries or cards in highly volatile cup games.

I think momentum is more important than a week off when they are only playing saturdays not midweek aswell .

Having a break isn't always good!

Last season the squad clearly burned out post Christmas

Now people are concerned that we'll get rusty due to having a well earned break. They just won four games in ten days

The mind boggles

Wrong! If Crystal Palace lose replay and hull lose replay they get a lovely break on 26th as the teams they play are through to 4th round of cup. None of the top 5 will be in league actin on 26th
