Thank God for that

Sat Jan 05, 2013 4:48 pm

Good luck Macclesfield. Nice load of money for you lot. Glad we haven't got a replay at the CCS.

We can focus on the league and hopefully Macclesfield go on to the next round and get the fixture they want. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Totally agree. Worst result would have been a replay.

Re: Thank God for that

Sat Jan 05, 2013 4:50 pm

should have won it. not good enough

Re: Thank God for that

Sat Jan 05, 2013 4:52 pm

Although i wanted to win, im not overly concerned we lost. It gave MM the chance to look at youngsters in a first team match

Vekikonja is too weak and Kev was awful, those im concerned about.

Declan John has a big future!

Re: Thank God for that

Sat Jan 05, 2013 4:53 pm

oshalaja and jarvis, in my opinion dont have futures at this club, coulson doesnt impress me either, lewis has looked shocking etc etc

Re: Thank God for that

Sat Jan 05, 2013 4:53 pm

Should have won, although Kev weren't great, Coulson was f*cking shite.

Why are you getting so riled up about a narrow defeat in a cup game that is not really that important? Move on and concentrate on the league. Far more important.

so what if the league is more important? the result is an embarrasment! and some of these players look poor, not only today but in the development side too.

Is it really an embarrassment when you take into consideration that the team was full of youngsters?

Not at all. I wish Macclesfield all the best. I am very happy they beat us. We are a side who want promotion. They are a team who could do with the money from a cup run. I can't see how this is bad.

Re: Thank God for that

I wanted us to win as we could use the cup run to give these youngsters/bench players a chance to see what they can do

It's actually rather amusing how some are so angry at such an irrelevant defeat.

A fan that wants us to focus on the league and doesn't want stupid FA cup replays clogging up our fixture list etc. Keep the eye on the prize for crying out loud. Stop letting your heart rule your head. Yes a good cup run is lovely and everyone loves cup football but lets get to the Premiership, get in some more quality players and try and win the damn thing like Portsmouth and Birmingham did.

One of the best results of the season lookin at the bigger picture.

100% agree with this point of view but when it can lead to replays that interfere with the league fixtures its not a good thing. Three of our rivals, Hull, Blackpool and Leeds have replays now and as they dont have the depth we have this will hurt them. We need to capitalise on the fact that they will be slotting more games into their schedule.

But if we had replays I would still have used kids or players needing match fitness. Replays only affect us if they cause us to reschedule league games

I wouldn't say its a good experience for them, since most of them have blown their chance to get into the first team...

I really cant believe the complacency being show by some on here...........Championship leaders(clear leaders at that) has just got beaten by a conference side who are no higher that mid table....an absolute disgrace,Mackay showed a total lack of respect for the competition,a total lack of respect for the opposition in picking a complete reserve team,a team never the less that should have been good enough to win today, what the hell does it tell you about our so called strength in depth,if i was the owners,i would be really pissed off with Mackay right now

this fixture had no impact on the first team squad, and we should have won it.

will i care if we get promoted? no of course not

however, stop acting like its a choice between the two, its not even about having a cup run, we should have won this game, and now we have a whole two weeks without a game when we dont need the rest.

f**k off you c**t. I dont normally swear at other people but your just a cretin. All you do is criticise Malky about everything. Its not a lack of respect we dont need a cup run with our players, we are aiming for promotion. Its up the young players to take their chance and show that they could be in the first team.

My dear Angelis, I have been waiting for your latest rant at MM. I bet you were loving the last 5 mins. Tell me, when the penalty went in, how much of a thrill did you get. Have you saved the score in the wank bank?
