Greetings Chaps

Well look at that table - top of the league!!!

Absolutely top effort from Malky & your boys & although I haven't been on for a while I'd like to say a massive well done. It's a real achievement to be at the top of the table with as many points as you have & you've put yourself in a great position to reach the promised land. Well done boys.

Another disastrous season for us but if anyone can get us out if the shit its Harry.

Annis you were right about Mark Hughes !

Anyway enough of that its all about you & from being in the very same position you find yourselves in now I know just how much you'll be enjoying this season. No better feeling going to games KNOWING your team is going to get goals & usually win!

If you are very smart you will bring in 2-3 players in this window. We were doing great in our promotion season and in January many argued we didn't actually need any more players as it may unsettle the regular lads but I'll tell you what without the lads Neil Warnock brought in we absolutely would not have gone up. We brought in Wayne Routledge who went on to score & assist in around 7-8 goals, Ishmael Miller another who scored a couple of vital goals giving us points when we really needed them & also Danny Shittu who came in & was a rock for the few games h contributed in. The regular guys were jaded by March & these new additions were absolutely instrumental in our success & you MUST strengthen.

Anyway good luck chaps the way things are looking we may be passing each other but hopefully we can reacquaint old rivalries next season in the PREMIER LEAGUE!

Stan

Cheers bud & happy new year.

Gonna be a mammoth task but we don't do things the easy way!

Cheers Stan, Happy New Year to you mate. I think most would agree with me that we need a few more players in January to bolster our promotion aspirations( feckin hell, where did that word come from?). Hopefully we will get them earlier rather than later in this transfer window. Being top does help. all the best for the rest of the season. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Hope you had a good Christmas and good New Year. One of only two rival fans on here I respect, the other being scotsjack.

QPR will get out of trouble in my opinion. Teams like Villa and Reading will go into free fall.

Happy new year Stan. Hope you guys put a decent run together now after the victory over the Cheslki! Got to build on that.

Thanks for your post too. It is looking good for us, I agree. But, we must strengthen definitely!

Connolly has been one of the signings of the season! defends extremely well, and chipped in with important goals!

Helgusson (hard as f**king nails!) has earned us valuable points on his own, especially against ipswich (our bogey team he got both goals! and put a ghost to bed!)

Smith, for the first half of the season, before injury has been a top top clever winger, come attacking midfielder, very comfortable on the ball, rarely loses possession, and not afraid to have a pop from anywhere on the pitch!

have to say, without these three we would probably be somewhere in the middle of the table!

That's great news & without sounding like a 'told ya so' merchant the points you made are pretty much how I summed up each player when asked about them & I'm glad they are doing well. Three very good players for three completely different reasons.

Connolly first & foremost is a very good footballer. Arsenal schooled & is very composed I was sorry to see him go.

HH exactly as you described. An old war horse but is the kind of player every team needs & I'm glad you noticed Tommy Smiths ball retention he really is a very good player with the ball at his feet.

Any targets you have heard of coming in? Also where do you feel you need strengthening for the remainder of the season?

Happy New Year to you Stan, good to see you back. :ayatollah:

Extremely happy with all three signings for exactly the reasons Merlin has stated.

I have a sneaky feeling you might do the Houdini act with Harry at the helm and with a bit of luck we'll play you next season.

Good luck with your battle and lets hope we're both taking 6 points of Swansea next year. :D

Haooy New Year to you Stan, always spot on with your words.

Re: Greetings Chaps

Happy New Year Stan thank you for your post and I guess we all are quietly confident in our team at the moment. I'm with you on bringing in a couple of players just to freshen things up and keep the other players on their toes.

I do hope Harry turns things around he has a proven track record and if anyone can keep you up he will. Good luck Stan I hope we meet up with QPR in the EPL next season. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Great to hear from you again Stan and Happy New Year to you and your family great result against Chelski and hopefully the start of better times ahead.

With regards to City we couldn't ask for much more although some of our fans are still not happy  Mind you i am not counting our chickens yet and as you said we need to strengthen for the second half of the season where it will get tougher however we have a great Manager in charge and if we do lose a game we always seem to bounce back

So if we carry on what we have been doing this could be the season that we finally do it and if so i hope QPR stay up and we renew acquaintances next season :ayatollah: :D

Re: Greetings Chaps

Happy New Year Stan, good to hear from you again.

One of Malkys strengths is exactly what you claimed Warnock had. I recall you saying that Warnock could change a game when things were not going good, that is come half time all you QPR fans were confident he would do the neccessary during the break if the first half was not working out. Well that is exactly what Malky is showing us he can do.

Some of our games this season we have started dreadful and the first half has been embarrassing. The second half we have played like a different team and gone on to win the game. Malky is showing tactical awareness and this is perhaps the main reason we are were we are. Our last 3 games are proof of that. Each game we have taken a lead and as the game has matured our opponents have found it more difficult to break us down. If we had our main striker available, Maynard who is out for the rest of the season, I reckon we could be winning these games more comfortable.

Anyway I do hope you survive this term. Its going to be a bit of a climb for you. Whatever you do dont try and loan us Bothroyd.

Behave yourself Merlin. I know people like to rim Stan on here but thats a ludicrous claim. Smiths been injured for more two thirds of the season so far.

And Stan my suggestion about you getting relegated and your wage bill being 100m a year not so "mentally unstable" after all eh?

Re: Greetings Chaps

Now now no need to be unpleasant.

Wage bill is obviously high THIS season you were talking about last. Anyway I trust our owners so we'll see.

Cheers for the other messages boys its making for a good read.

Any targets? How's Bellamy playing?

Now now Stan it was this season but I wont be horrible and bump the thread up today :)

Bellamy slow start, few niggling injuries, but this last month been top drawer.

Go work out the points earned, and saved by these three! ;)

Sorry I have to be perfectly blunt here but I cannot see QPR staying up even with your win against Chelsea last week as for us I think with 2/3 quality players we will make it :ayatollah: .

Good to hear from you again stan, (happy new year) connolly has been very consistent and played at both centre half and right back, he has also banged in a few goals along the way, smith has been out injured for two months, up until then he was oozing with class, he is back next week and will feel like a new signing, helgusson has been fantastic, leaves nothing on the pitch and has scored quite a few goals, he now needs help (a new signing) because of the amount of games he has played, anyway, hope harry can get you out of the mess you have found yourselves in, good luck :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

And plenty points earned without them ;)
