" Not a nice welcome for us in Macclesfield "

Just got this from other mb

Maccy Blue

To all my fellow Bluebirds on the way up here tomorrow be warned if you want a beer before the game tomorrow!

Earlier in the week the local twitchy-bum police up here decided to visit every pub in Macc and 'warn' them of the trouble Cardiff fans can be. And I quote - "open at your own risk - if your pub gets wrecked then you were warned".

A few licencees are shutting at lunch time, completely. If you are coming by train then be prepared for a bussing up to the ground from the station - although this was only a suggestion by the local constabulary - but this has been proposed. I really can't see this happening but knowing the local cops I wouldn't be surprised!

Exit the station and turn right if this is the case - although I doubt it will.

I spoke to a minnion in Wetherspoons tonight and he assured me that the only bigger pub in town to shut is Revolution. Spoons is cheap enough and sort of ok, but will be open. Be warned the police love coming down hard on this place, football or not.

If you are coming by coach or driving then I suggest stopping off in Congleton. This town is between the M6 and Macc. Some pretty ok pubs here.

So far I have been told 800 tickets have been sold. The vast majority of seating has been sold and 400 odd standing. There will be tickets now on the day for standing for sale.

Hope this helps.

last time I can remember something similar was Crewe away (FA Cup replay) - they shut all the pubs within 5 mile radius.

There was an off licence next to ground with a 'long' queue!! Ha, ha - the bloke made a killing (well, from the ones who paid anyway)

Bit silly really.

Its a big attraction this fixture for some of the fans whos been around for years to stand on the terraces.

I guess it will be enjoyable day for you Annis and all the other fans.

I wish I was going and Id love to go these type of grounds in all honesty.

I had enough of these trips in the past and I will not be looking at them through rose tinted glasses.

May they be a thing of the past for a very long time.

Morning Bluebirds

I can confirm the police have visited pubs in the town and had a word but the majority are opening as usual. one thing that wont happen is gettin bussed up to the ground. we have had 2000 Port Vale and Stockport County visiting here in the past and they roam freely round the centre and the only trouble to be honest is with Stockport most games.

The old bill are well on top up here and come down hard for the tiny little things so they wont think twice about locking people up and they hold you overnight miles from the town up near winsford.

Hope you all have a good day up at the Macc and good luck

If your planning to stop in Congleton, there is a great pub on the way called the Farmers Arms, you dont have to go in town. Once you see the fire station by the second roundabout on your way in to Congleton its directly behind it. Congleton is only 15 mins from Macc and lots of Premier League supporters stop off on their way to Stoke.

Yet further proof that our reputation still lives on until this very day. Tried to point it out in another thread but people just wont listen will they?

Tan is trying every way possible to eradicate this image of the club.
