MASON/RUDY/ETIEN

Both Rudy and Mason have both been started in the last two games along side bellers and both have scored.. Now etien has his big chance to shine tomorrow! We really do not need more strikers in in jan we have enough as it is. We just need to start them more often and bring them on. IMO we need defenders!

I think we need one more striker.

Not that I am saying we should go nuts and buy everyone but.........when Newcastle were top at turn of the year, when they went up, they bought a wod of players - Routledge, Leon Best, Fitz Hall, Danny Simpson and others I can't remember.

They already had a squad that was the best in the division and they signed 5/6 players to make sure they entered the last few months with cover & quality. I don't think many of their signings were really intended as long term - just to ensure they went up.

A striker and defender would be good - we already have 101 midfielders. I am sure Malky will do the biz.

Spot on mate, 5 is more than enough. Unless they hugely, and i mean HUGELY improve the team.

If Sordell comes in for example, you've got to ask yourself is he really any better than Bellamy or Mason to start alongside either Helguson or Gestede, and the answer is NO. He isn't. There's no doubt about it.

Money would be far better spent on strengthening our defensive options. :ayatollah:

I think its the case of taking advantage of a good striker now to step up next year.

Can see where your coming from but I feel like we need a striker who is a quality striker and can get more goals for us.

I'll take 1-0 away wins until the end of the season but I feel if we had Maynard for some games we would have seen them out with him imo. :ayatollah:

I agree, Derby away was a prime example when we had to play Ralls at left back when we had McNaughton,Taylor, Turner injured and Lappin suspended. Now Lappin has gone back its even more threadbare at the back.
