Just had clarification, and what I thought was this situation was incorrect.
One lad came on and said he'd bought a ST first year of the five year scheme then couldn't afford one, and would he be able to buy one next year at the price guaranteed for the whole five years.
Well I thought no, because to me that would seem crazy if you were trying to get people to buy and stay on board for five years, but the truth is you can, so technically if you bought it for year one then had three years off, you could still buy the fifth year at the original price, very generous, or just shows how desperate Peter Ridsdale was to sell them get some money in at any long term cost.

10,000 were sold with 6,000 not renewing. I recall Ridsdale via the website sending out a begging letter aimed at the 6,000 to renew. He needed the money to pay the next couple of months wages. None of the 6,000 renewed therefore forcing Ridsdale to go to Ranson. Such a desperate situation.
We never found out where the money went.

Well that is just stupid and rewarding fans who were not loyal

That doesn't sound right to me.....but if it is correct and we get promoted, people who are not season ticket holders at the moment will struggle to get one anyway won't they? Maybe that's partly why the club are not going to be issuing many more than what they've already sold?

im suprised tans allowing it

I can remember when Ridsdale was doing his best to sell this offer he definately said that anyone buying in 2009 would have a season ticket freeze for a period of 5 years even if they didn't renew.
It wasn't aimed at rewarding disloyalty but more about how desperate Ridsdale was at the time to get season ticket monies in because we were on the brink of financial meltdown.

Your probably right although since 2009 there have been a number of season ticket freezes if you bought early enough. Also he bought into the club on a minority basis so couldn't do anything about the season ticket contract the club had with it's fans.

The only thing I am surprised at is that some still thought that if you broke the trend of buying a season ticket that you lost your price freeze, this has been discussed many times on here and it has been explained on each occasion that you can still benefit from the price freeze.
At the end of the day we helped out when the club needed us, so if some could not afford a season ticket during the price freeze then I feel it is only right that the club honours the commitment of those that bought when it was desperate.

as i understand almost 20,000 season tickets have been sold for this season. therefore if they all re-new and old ambo`s who say bought the first year of the freeze then missed the next 3 would`nt be able to get one anyway

Im pretty sure this years 20,000 will come before someone who had a ticket 4 years ago but hasnt renewed in the last 3.

This should be the case as they have lost their status as ambassadors/st holders. What about those that have helped the club for the last couple of years? There has to be a limit on season tickets which we have probably reached. Tough luck if they miss out.

However, although I have bought a season ticket right through the 5 year plan, I was told I could not keep the price freeze when I moved areas, even though I moved to purchase an extra season ticket.

Present ST holders will have priority over past ones. Like its been said not many if any left to sell! Only thing old st holders will get at todays price. But not much good if cant buy in 1st place! it also shows that financial situation at time was far wore than some people on here believed, red or dead? Mmm close run thing

I moved and got price freeze that was in place in area (level 4 )

This years 20,000 will get a window to renew, before end of March if previous years are anything to go by and then it'll be a free for all on 1st April. There will be lots (over 1,000 at least) of the 20,000 who won't want to renew by the end of March because this always happens whether we are in a cup final or near the top 2 or whatever. So I imagine anyone who is willing to buy on the 1st April or earlier will be fine. Anyone who isn't willing to buy this early whether they have a seat this year or not will be taking a chance on there being availability later on in the year.

Now I am annoyed.
I was on level 4 but I was forever buying match day tickets for my daughter, so the next season she became a fully fledged season ticket holder and we moved to the Grange Stand. The club did not freeze MY ticket at the Grange stand going rate.
