' BEN NUGENT SIGNS NEW CONTRACT '

3 and half years. Future star,got big future in game

Cardiff City's highly promising defender Ben Nugent has signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until 2016.

The new deal is reward for the progress made by Nugent this season, including impressive performances in Malky Mackay's first team as the Bluebirds chase the Premier League dream.

The youngster helped resolve a defensive crisis earlier this term, stepping in for the injured Ben Turner.

Nugent has since been moved out of the first team picture, but will feature as a key man for Cardiff in the weekend FA Cup tie at Macclesfield.

I love having young, hungry players ready to step in and be capable in case anyone gets injured. Last season it was only Ralls but now we have Nugent in case of defensive worries

happy for the kid. put in some solid performances. even when released he came back and trained with us. he's earned it

I hope he continues, got a gem on our hands. Nearly lost another youngster to the hands of the DJ but he kept coming back to prove.
